So I've read the requirement's, and all the other info they provide for the application. But I want to know, should I even try? How often do they accept staff? Should I work on certain skills or character traits? I have no clue myself. First and foremost, I can be a very aggressive player and person (but more in games). I don't like to hurt people but I have an undesirable passion for arguing, and don't like to be wrong more than anything. However, I have been working on this. I can get angry fast. But in general, I am a calm human being. I am one of those people who just go with the flow, but can get caught up when threatened, or insulted, or challenged. I stand my ground and don't like to budge. Would this make me a bad moderator? I can come to terms or accept fair situations but sometimes it's really hard for me to just give up. Tell me, should this be fixed before I apply? On the flip side, I have some good qualities that could make me a decent moderator. I posses screen recording and screenshot capabilities, starter editing software, and a beast gaming laptop for multiple location Minecraft play. I am online often, and I do try to help other, but that can be a challenge. I've played this server for a very long time. Maybe not on this specific account, but I am very familiar with this server. Which brings me to another matter, I have been banned before. It was an old me, a younger me I see the world much differently now than I did before. The account was named "Fish6y." I recently changed the name to "HotFudgeBalls" to go along with my unique username "SlowFudgeBalls." The reason I was banned was because I used a black-listed mod. However Since then I have sent a ban appeal for myself under the name Fish6y (I didn't actually make the account Fish6y it was a friend of mine, he'd let me use this account freely) and it was accepted. I didn't lie. I said I did indeed hack. I believe I said how wrong it was and how I have since then stopped the hacking and promised to swear off hacking. Overall I, myself, think I'd make a good edition to the staff here, but that's not up to me is it. I want your opinions. Should I go at it? Or should I wait and mature more than I am as of today? No one person or persons can make my decision but you can sway my choice. But please let us try and keep this thread friendly and clean, unlike my many others. But if you must speak not in favor of me, do it nicely and respectively. For example "I disagree because..." or "I see your point but you are wrong because..." etcetera.
In my honest opinion, no. I don't think you should apply. You don't meet the requirements, never seen in-game, and no offense, but you're kind of immature IN MY OPINION.
No Support - Never seen you Ingame Before - Didn't Follow The Format - Not Active On Forums - Does Not Meet Requirements To Be Mod (This is What I would Say If You Made a Mod App)
I think you should work on the traits you mentioned before applying. This is because those traits will most likely have a negative impact on your chances at becoming a moderator as well as your chances of remaining one if you are accepted. Aside from that, it may be a good idea to try to improve upon those traits even if you don't apply since you realize they are problematic for yourself and others at times. Aside from that, there are the issues that @Baby and @Insolar pointed out. Rather that repeating these issues, I'll expand upon them: > You currently have under 50 messages, therefore even if you apply, your application would be dismissed. If you are going to apply for Moderator, meeting the requirements is a must. This also helps to reveal whether or not you are able to follow rules, as well as how serious you are about applying for the position. > Moderators have to be in-game a lot, so being well-known is important. Additional Suggestions/Critique: > Get more reports in (You currently have 7 reports and 13 people banned/tempbanned, however, having more reports will definitely help you if you choose to apply.) > Think before posting; If you are upset when making a thread, I suggest taking the time to look it over before posting it, or just waiting until you calm down before making it in the first place. People often form an impression of others based on what they do and say; this applies to the forums as well. > Lastly, a suggestion if you haven't already: Read all the rules for the server and each forums section.
Putting my thoughts here, don't apply yet. Work on activity in game and forums and meet the requirements here.
It's all up to you. However, you may not get a lot of support considering your activity. I have never seen you ingame, and this is my first time seeing you on forums. Best of luck!
Ultimately, it's your choice whether to apply or not. But some things to take into consideration before you think about applying -Are you helpful? -Are you mature? -Are you active? -Do you meet the requirements? -Make your application detailed and thoroughly explain why you should receive this position -Post some reports to show you know what a rule breaker looks like. Good luck, just some thoughts, but ultimately; it's you not us that gets to decide whether you make a Moderator application.
Tip: Don't continuously call out someone for hacking, if you catch them, just record them, don't shout it out in the public chat. That's definitely not what a moderator would do.
hello I think you would make a great mod in infection, u always help people including me gl I think more mods are needed and u can be one :D
Working on that. Thanks for the help, though. I want to make the best impression when I apply for mod.
My in-game name is TradeOffer, if you didn't know. I would stop with the random stuff that you say, as well as the occasional attitude you decide to show.
Yes, otherwise I wouldn't be replying. I've just stated things that you should work on, like you've asked, that is all.
In my opinion, I would wait. Just wait a bit and in that time I would work on being more active in-game, and especially on forums. Work on exploring more and different types of game modes throughout the server and get to know the community. Also, as other people stated, work on your attitude and become more Mature in that tine. Finally, I would also be working on doing more Reports. You have minimal reports, but more reports is always better! Good Luck!
