Did I hear correctly that in the very near future that all donor ranks will be lost/removed/made ineffective? I read today in the new factions reset that it has become a reality. http://www.mineverse.com/threads/faction-reset.96016/ In the comments of that announcement, @Poseidon mentioned that it will soon be the case on all game modes server wide. Did I understand correctly? Is that fact or speculation? If all of this is true, then I'm having serious buyer's remorse on the $180 I've spent on donations. Yeah I like mineverse, but not that much. Without the kits and commands what's left? Hats and pets? Surely mushroom stew is not a positive benefit. I cannot rightfully justify spending that much if all you can get are hats, pets, and color text in chat. If this is not a rumor, then why is the shop still advertising that donor ranks are still available for factions and there is no warning that they will be removed in the near future from all other game modes? Is that not false advertising or at least misleading to assume these donor ranks may have some value long term? Yes I'm deeply saddened by this news... Blue
Yes you are correct that that may be false advertising and @CypriotMerks and @Noobcrew should edit the perk list asap so nobody thinks they are getting a kit when they arnt. Yes, donor kits got removed, whatever. Donors still do have some perks but they are still getting worked on and tweaked so it is still worth it to buy a donor rank but it just isn't as OP anymore.
The shop hasn't been updated in awhile. A lot of the perks have yet to be updated from long ago. At the moment, Factions is EULA compliant without the donator kits. All I can, and know, to say is Cypriot and Noobcrew have plans to hopefully completely comply with the new EULA, but not in a way that will make every donator completely regret their donation. Things will be okay and I don't want any of you to worry about wasting your money. Besides, a vast amount of players hate the whole "pay to win" type of thing anyway.
No one will lose their current donator rank, I believe. The perks will just be adjusted on different game-modes.
Rank perks that give players a higher advantage, like kits, will be removed. To prevent people stopping from buying ranks, I believe they will alter the perks so you can have stuff you can't do in default, but don't really give you a higher advantage, more just to entertain you, or make yourself feel special.
Sometimes people can cross the border when it comes to explaining things. You didn't really have to add the last sentence in. It's more pathetic then someone being deeply saddened about a rank.
Right now I'm just finding it hard to believe that a $250 titan rank will be worth while without the OP items. From how I interpret the EULA any in game advantage will have to be eliminated which probably includes multiple homes, jumping, invsee, repair, fix, more plots, enchant, god, vanish, healing, feeding, world edit, lack of mushroom stew, etc... Take those away, including the OP armor, tools and weapons, and how can someone justify $250 aside from being a pure vanity item. If that is the case, then it would only be available for the wealthier population, at least until Microsoft/Mojang changes their EULA once again to fix that too. Perhaps, in all honesty, it may be best severed to see what the new ranks would offer. I personally cannot see the value in what could be left, but I've been wrong before and I'm willing to be wrong on this too. I know the owners and ops will do what they can to make it as appealing as possible. Hopefully they do. That said, I should mention that before I ever bought any ranks I never viewed those with them as possessing anything that was unfair. It was part of the game play and I managed pretty well without them. What really has me irked about this EULA change is that Microsoft/Mojang has made their money on the MC clients. Then with the EULA they are basically cutting off a decent revenue source for these third party servers to pay their bills. It's almost like Microsoft/Mojang is saying you cannot make money off of our product directly or indirectly, and if you do we will restrict what you can do because we can control you. I acknowledge that this is not the fault of MV or the owners; they are just the victims too. I would think that the simple solution would be for Mojang to add a configuration setting to prevent access to a pay-to-win site so that way if the licensee of that Minecraft software so desires, they can disable it to play as the choose. Kind of like what they do with the chat settings. That would be a reasonable programming based solution. But perhaps the most basic solution would be to require each pay-to-win site to just identify themselves as a pay-to-win when you connect so you, the licensee, can exit that site and choose another. No need to put a hard-block in the app. Epicdogz198 one thing that I don't understand that you can hopefully clarify: If you are so opposed to pay-to-win sites as you make it sound, they why oh why are you even on MineVerse? Its somewhat hypocritical to support this server, even if you don't make a donation, if pay-to-wins are so evil. Right? Yeah I thought so. The poof is in your profile which proves that you really don't care about what happens with pay-to-win; you are just interested in confrontation and negativity and therefore your argument must in turn be null-and-void. Edit: I just tried to click on Epicdogz198's profile to see who they are and they no longer exist. Must have been a troll? Could explain their post? Disable buying the current ranks and add new ones what only have cosmetic/non-beneficial perks. Removing buying the skyblock spawners and kitpvp kits. Problem solved.
I thought kits were allowed as long you can obtain the items without the kit. So if a kit gives you protection 4, and you can enchant protection 4 from an enchantment table, I thought that was allowed. The thing I heard is not allowed is donors getting anything that cannot be obtained without actually donating. Or at least that's what I've heard, correct me if I'm wrong.
