      I was very happy to see that Cyp and Crew reset factions, it was a definite step in the right direction, and I'm very excited for the reset for KitPvP.

      Even though Mineverse is taking steps in the right direction, we can still improve (in my opinion) on how we handle resets.

      Servers such as OP PvP, Prison, and Kit PvP have been running on the same map for over a year, which is far too long without a reset. People start to get very OP and it starts to ruin the game for the people who want to try out the gamemode but get destroyed because the OP people have been playing on the same for literally years.

      Even though the owners have seen that resetting servers is the step in the right direction by resetting factions and infection, and soon to be Kit PvP, resets also need to happen in the future. What I mean by this, after a certain period of time of Kit PvP being up, it needs to be reset again to keep game play balanced for everyone.

      With that said, I know some of you will say how often each game mode should be reset is too fast, but if you work at for a few weeks, you'll probably get good stuff on whatever game mode you play on. Also, this will probably upset the OP people (for obvious reasons) but I ask you this, is it fun having no competition? In my eyes competition is fun, it gives you something to do, and you won't be as bored because you are always competing with other people to be better, and once you get bored, the reset would happen and the fun will happen again after the reset. I hope you guys get what I'm going with this, it's hard to explain, but it's simply competition.

      OP PvP/Kit PvP/Archer PvP/Factions/OP Factions/Survival/GTA -> 6 Months - 12 Months

      These are all PvP type game modes for the exception of survival, and on these PvP game modes you gather PvP gear and PvP (obviously). What I noticed from playing faction and other PvP servers, 6 months is perfect time gap between resets. It is not too long for people to get too rich on a server and it's not too short to where you can't succeed at the game. It's fine if the server doesn't reset until an entire year, but anything after that is too long. For example, OP PvP has been running the same map for over two years. Sure, many people got reset, but there is still quite a few people who didn't get reset and they still process things like strength II, speed II, blocks, etc. Plus the maps get old after a while and we have a good build team to build good maps. (OP PvP is just an example)

      Infection/OP Prison/Prison -> 1 Year

      These are also PvP game modes but they take longer to become OP (i.e infection has prestige). A year gives people time to work up because mining in prison may take awhile depending on how much you play. I don't have as much experience with any of game modes, so if you think I should alter this time please feel free to suggest that.

      Skyblock/Hellblock/SkyGrid -> 1 Year - 2 Years

      These game modes take the most work in terms of being OP, and if you're OP it only really messes up the economy. These game modes should be reset soon in my opinion because they been running for awhile and people are really rich. But after that, resets should be less often because you have to work HARD in these game modes and a longer reset time would allow people's very hard work to even be worth it.

      Skywars/Creative -> Never

      These are the only two game modes on the server that should never be reset. You can have a lot of money on sky wars and be OP, but in skywars you go into a new game each time you play, so resetting money isn't really necessary, and the lobby is still in good condition. As for creative, people also work HARD on their buildings and there is no reason to reset, you can't become OP on creative (or I don't think you can :P)

      This seems like I suggestion but I don't really intend it to be one. I just want to state why resets are essential to balancing the server and I added the amount of time between resets to give my opinion on how long a map should stay.

      Also, when a reset happens it can be a gear reset, it doesn't have to be a new map every reset. A reset really just needs to be to balance the server. With this said however, maps do need to be added every so often to make game play fresh in that regard.

      This thread is for discussion, am I right in what I'm saying and you agree with me, or am I completely wrong?

      Thanks guys,

      What's the point in playing on this server if all your progress gets thrown away? The servers, if nothing goes wrong, stay balanced. But if something like half the people are reset or OP glitched items are available for limited time, then it's time for a reset.

      That's why Factions and Infection have been reset, because there have been problems with the game modes. This is also why Kit Pvp is going to reset, and hopefully prison because there is a lot messed up with prison.

      A set amount of time for every reset would only ruin the player's experience, and thus the server.

      I disagree with your assessment that one year would be good for a Prison reset. The nature of the goal of the game to rank up to higher levels conflicts with frequent resets. Most of those ranks would be unattainable since they require so much dedication to build the infrastructures to enable the players to earn the money and rank up their mcMMO skills.

      I agree with Scorvix. Stability has its benefits and appeal; if everything were to be reset frequently, it would radically change the way I and others would view the games. Honestly, if I wanted something with a short life span then I wouldn't play prison since there would be absolutely no way to ever reach the higher ranks. Knowing that the game will be reset it would be foolish to sink so much time in to it to have it all lost. A game like prison requires a lot of dedication to rank up and earn the required funds to pay for it; which is something that is not favorable for frequent resets.

      I realize many people have different reasons to play these various game modes, and likewise there are many ways to play prison. If someone's main goal is strictly pvp, then yeah resets will do little to disrupt their enjoyment. But if their goals are to focus on the ranks and the mcMMO then resets can be very disruptive and devastating.

      But I would imagine that if prison is placed on a reset schedule, then they would have to drop the requirements to reach the various goals otherwise they would be impossible targets. It's like a sliding window where shorter reset intervals would require goals that are much easier to attain. Ie... a dumbing down of the game to allow for winning in a shorter period of time. The removal of the ranks is not possible either, otherwise you would have yet another plain and simple factions servers.

      I started to play prison about three/four months ago and I have invested a huge amount of time and effort in to the game to build up my mcMMO skills and the infrastructure to support the climb to the top. Yeah it may be very difficult for me, or anyone new, to make it in to the /mcrank's top 10, but so far I believe I've done quite well and it could be a possibility.

      I was hit hard by the glitches from about a month ago. I lost so much of my most valuable items and all of my money. But I bounced back and survived. From what I saw, with so many being effected by the loss, it shifted the dynamics of the game and helped rebalance and realign it in favor of the newer players. Perhaps that unexpected glitch was enough of a reset?

      Overall I think other game modes may benefit from more frequent resets, but not prison. Its a long-term game of strategy that cannot be reduced down to a few weeks of game play.

      I don't think resetting pretty all of the servers is the answer.

      Prison is actually two years old, if not, more. Ranking up to higher levels isn't actually the aim of the game for many people, for me it was mostly getting as rich as possible in items and such, rather than wasting money ranking up to higher, useless prestige ranks.

      Prison really needs a reset and there are no long time players against this idea, it's really only people who have recently started/started back who would be against the idea of a prison reset.

      So, all of our hard work will be gone in a period of time? Please, no. You misunderstand the reason and importance of a reset. It's to restart a gamemode when it's far from patching, or fixing. Not to reset people and waste their time.
