What will happen if I change my IGN?

Way back when in February (not 2016, when name changing became possible) I changed my name from skylanderdavid to XxMcPhantomxX. This was when I didn't have access to a computer and I did this through my iPad. When I was using my friends computer, I logged into my account only to realize that on skyblock I was kicked out of my friend's island (he doesn't really play anymore, but I asked him to add me back and he did) my ender chest got reset (rip all my diamonds and rare items) my bal got reset (rip 800k), my Titan rank wasn't there (Thankfully Cyp helped me get it back) and I didn't have access to any of my shop chests (even my regular chests I didn't have access to, can't trust my friends they steal everything from me lol) so I then changed my name back to skylanderdavid. I thought this fixed the issue, well it kind of did. I never got my ender chest back, my bal was still reset, my friend added me back, and for some reason, I can only open my shop chests at certain times of the day (I made a video showing that if you want it). And this was only on skyblock. On sky grid my home reset, on OpPrison EVERYTHING reset, including my plot and my rank and many more gamemodes. I have heard around that this issue was fixed (but you can never really be 100% sure) so has this issue been fixed where if you changed your name your account gets "reset"
So yeah I'm planning to change my name again but I'm just making sure this issue has been fixed

I wouldn't change my name, it's really glitchy and there is no way to insure you will keep all your items.

 

You will basically lose EVERYTHING other than your rank

 

The gamemode I mainly play is skyblock. Should I first remove all shop chest signs, get all my stuff from my ender chest and put it in a regular chest, give my bal to someone I trust (a close friend, or a staff member)change my name, and re do everything?

If you change your name the changes that will affect you on Skyblock only are:

- Loss of Lockette & ChestShop signs, meaning you can't open them. So yes remove them.
- Loss of Island (Possibly) because our plugin doesn't support UUIDs

 

Okay, thankfully I don't own the island so it won't get deleted.

 

You may get kicked from the party, so you'll have to be re invited.

 

mcMMO shouldn't be affected unless you are using a really outdated build.

 

Have you seen the version of uSkyBlock we are using? We're totally outdated.. It's supposed to be built for 1.7 not 1.8..

 

Serious? I'm shocked that hasn't been updated. uSkyBlock's old versions have so many issues.

 

I've suggested it, but no responses by any major staff members :(.
I mean.. there's versions that support 1.8, 1.9 & 1.10 now.. but no. keep on using the outdated 1.7 version.

 

I don't remember if updating caused any major issues, since I think I did it with a server reset. The fact that they are still using a 1.7 build clearly indicates a reset is due. lol

 

They use different builds for 1.7 on Skyblock & Hellblock, that's why both of them have this issue with UUIDs and other stuff. We need a reset for both gamemodes.

 

You would think an update would be a top priority if the builds being used aren't even UUID compatible.

 

Your balance will not be affected, nor your items. You will only need to remove the signs from your chests, get a incredibly close mate of yours to guard your items, change your name, and reclaim your chests. Your enderchest loot will not be harmed, don't worry.

 

I have changed my name recently and nothing went wrong.

 

With the mcmmo update on prison losing mcmmo as a result of a name change is no longer a problem as mcmmo is now attached to uuids rather than names.

@Skylanderdavid go ahead and change your name, the only two problems you'll have are :

1) Creative plots, although a head moderator can easily assist you with this problem.

2) Chest shops, make sure to break all your chest shops before changing your name, you can re-add them immediately after.

 

Also Lockette signs .

And most likely the loss of your island because as stated our Skyblock plugin is very outdated.
