Yeah, ban logs are the main idea here since they're easy posts. Appeals, the reasoning for that is that mods can easily farm posts off these whether its unintentional or not, and I don't see the reason why someone who is appealing because they've been banned should gain posts from this.
If this ever happens, just watch how every single player who is a staff member on the top messages list just drop down by like 1 - 2k messages.
Not really. I don't think Staff do a lot of ban logs, reports are the majority- and easier too. I have <400 logs in 6 months, and some even less. Older mods have more because they logged reports, which doesn't happen any more. If you misunderstood me, I was saying that reports and appeals should definitely NOT have post count.
Support, from my time as a Mod I can tell you that there are mods out there, still today that use reports to boost their forum standing. Not going to name names but it happens.
oh ok. When I was staff, my ban log was quite large, and yes I did log reports. With this said, even if it was just my recorded bans I was logging, it would still be quite large. Also, the community can't see logs, it's in the staff section, therefore shouldn't be counted in my opinion. +1 that's where it's at.
1. Search up a group of white people and a group of black people (that was not racist in any way) you will see how google isn't always right 2. Yes I did, I also put my name as delusionous, does that mean my name is delusionous? no. 3. Didn't really backfire. 4. If a player searches up Keemstar they will see it's a youtuber and leave, it's unlikely they will watch the vids. 5. honestly can't be bothered with you any more, I'm just saying every time I see you, you are always complaining or in an argument.
No support, to me having the staff getting an extra message is fine to me. Plus, the reporter also gets a message so....
How is handling a report or managing the help/glitch section any less post worthy than the average "no support reason stated above" on every suggestion thread or moderator application? I don't work here for a post count, but to say because I'm staff my work should not be counted the same as any other post is asinine. So why stop there? Why should some of the work I do here count but other not? Would you suggest to remove posts counted in bug reports, help, introductions, and ban appeals as well? Because as staff I post there too. This would remove all post counting totals for every person not just a single group in ACP. As for the reports not counting, the only way to set that up would be to edit the node/forum to not count posts there. The Multimod application/addon we have installed here doesn't have a setting to remove posts counting for totals. So every user who's posted a ban appeal or report would lose all their post counts as well. How does that help the community or improve the forums in any way? Not going to bother no supporting as you can tell this suggestion will never be accepted.
Though I do rate your spelling of "ease" very highly, I don't think it's worth the hassle to remove the post counts that they gain for indefinitely, doing their "job", per say. They volunteer here, not to gain post count, so it honestly shouldn't even be something that members should actually worry about. The system is fine as it is.
support but only for reports appeals n etc should count i dont think its possible to implement anyways but i get where ure comin from
No Support I understand that you want to make gaining posts "fair" for everyone, and I agree that moderators have a better position of increasing their post count, however, I agree with what @Pile said as well. Also, at this point, isn't it a bit late for 'post counts' to be a "true reflection" anyway? Lastly, if you aren't applying for a moderator position or trying to be a 'top poster', it really doesn't matter what your 'post count' is as much as what it is that your posting. (Last part is just my opinion though ^_^)
Bruv, mostly referring to ban logs. Also appeals since it's just stupid that someone who is punished gets posts
It's a suggestion. Is this not allowed to be suggested? I've never once said it's an urgent issue or anything? I just don't see it as fair that the general community can't obtain posts as easily as staff, especially when staff have things like ban logs which cannot be seen by everyone, therefore I don't believe they should count as a post. For those saying 'stahp targetering staff!!1!' - I've always had this view. Even when I was staff. Even before I was staff. It's a suggestion, nothing to do with targeting. As expected
