Recently, I have been playing a lot of Infection as it is a my favorite gamemode/server. However I feel that in order to make infection a lot better the maps need to be looked at. I have scaled each of the 10 maps in 3 different groups, Bad, Okay, and Great. Great: Caves, Winter, Temple, Desert What makes a map great is that there is always a winner or a last person alive. This is good because it give that last player a level. These are maps that need no improvements OK: Biomes, nether, mineshaft, Rust These are maps that sometimes have winner but usually don't but they could be Great with a little adjustment. On Biomes I feel that the witches hut needs to be removed (the brown hut in the swamp section) because in order to get to it you need to do parkour which is nearly impossible to do with a barrage of arrows shooting at you. Nether is a fun map but there is almost never a winner. So to improve it, there should be two sets of ladder on the first floor not one, therefor making it a lot harder for the humans to kill the zombies. In Mineshaft, there is only one entrance to get to the majority of the map which can be really hard to get through it is also a 1x1 area covered cobwebs and ladders, it should be a 2x1 and remove some of the cobwebs. Rust is good only if there are not a lot of donors on because there is a lot of spawnkilling, in order to limit the spawnkilling, I suggest getting rid of the tunnel thats right next to the zombie spawnpoint sidenote: everymap has a spawnkill potential but this one is the worst Bad: Argentan, Overgrowth, Carnival, dragonland, cliff These are maps that are beyond repair. No amount of buffing/nerfing will make these maps good.
What are you suggesting exactly? All I see here are some very disagreeable opinions on each of the maps we have.
No support. The maps won't be customized to fit you perfectly. Might as well close this, it will never be accepted. EDIT: You also forgot a few maps xD
Carnival would be nice if /suicide was added back since zombies get stuck in carts COUGH @CypriotMerks pls add COUGH Not entirely sure what you're suggesting here.
I did make some maps awhile ago but none of them were accepted But what Im basically saying is that most of these maps, there is always more than 1 survivor. So it is very hard to gain xp, what makes caves and temple really good, is that there is never a survivor which means someone will always get the extra xp The way infection should be is that there is always a winner, on a map like cliff, there is never a sole survivor that gets the level for when you win. Every single map should be made so there is a winner I realized a forgot a map (lol) but what I'm suggesting is making infection so that there is always a winner, whether it is editing every map or buffing the zombies, there should never multiple humans at the end of each game.
Don't quadruple post, @Janice999 . As for your suggestion, No support. If you believe certain maps are lacking then explain why you think that and some changes you believe would improve them. Plus, just because you dislike certain maps doesn't mean they are necessarily bad. It's just your opinion.
honestly what you are suggesting is not going to be changed to fit what you think about the maps you have talked about. As stated above by speedbuilder make some maps that suit you because the maps you might make may well be selected to be a new map for infection
Please don't spam. Also that's not how infection works. There's not suppose to be a winner every round. The point of the game is to survive a zombie apocalypse. There are other ways to gain exp, not just winning. And infection won't be made perfect for you. The world doesn't revolve around you.
No Support. I agree that spawnkilling is a problem, however, as stated above, your 'suggestion' is largly based on your opinion of each map and your ideal of how infection should be played.
Why do you want the bad maps to be removed? Some people have fun within them, maybe you do, but that doesn't mean they have to be removed. Absolutely no support.
