I'd go for an 80% support because portals such as Nether and End (etc) sometimes causes lag to those who do not have an average computer but I'd suggest it as pressure plates, doors and such as an entrance to different gamemodes in a way to be creative and avoid lag
(This may be good for beginners)

 

Those who do not have average computers shouldn't be playing. Minecraft has no optimization whatsoever and despite its looks it's quite resource-consuming. So it's not a good idea to be playing Minecraft on devices such as an outdated or below average laptop, let's say. Anyways thanks.

If I'm being honest I like the compass as it allows us to have more gamemodes.

But I still think it's a good idea as it may be confusing newer players and we may as well untilise it as it's already held used. Maybe use both.
