I was going through my mc recordings and found that I have several recordings of people hacking that are more than 2 weeks old. I remember a mod telling me that evidence >2 weeks old is unusable in a report. Is this true? Can I still report the players or would the report just be denied because of the age of the evidence?

Evidence older than two weeks won't get accepted.

 

It will most likely be closed using the 'lack of evidence' multimod. Not to say the evidence didn't prove anything, but you know.

 

Just upload anyway to spread the shame.

Overall, it won't be accepted... Well to save Mods' time you could just don't report them...

 

How can you tell how old evidence is?

 

It's mainly with videos, where you can just look at the upload date. But it's extremely tricky if the video was recorded two weeks prior to the upload, so that's where player appeals come in.

What if in an appeal a player claims that the evidence was recorded 3 weeks ago?

 

Then the player who recorded the video will probably need to take a screenshot of their files/where they recorded it to show the date. Whether that be from their recording file or the trash. I know it could be easily faked but I haven't really heard a case of this happening so I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. : )

One of my friends got banned by a video which was taken the year before, he decided to upload it because they fell out.

 

2weeks or not hackers should still be banned.

 

Yeah it easily could be faked by hitting create shortcut.
