Just a quick suggestion, After a few discussions with players and select builders, we have all agreed that allowing merging with friends would be a pretty cool idea. There would be no rank requirement to merge with a friend, the only requirement would be their permission. I was thinking a request would come through asking if you wish to merge, you can choose yes or no in this choice, most likely by clicking on a word in chat rather than the effort of typing in ' YES ' or ' NO ', along with setting up the if and else statements for this ( if that's the coding basis you run on ). I recently thought of this after the new ' /p merge ' commands were added, an example of this is can be found on ' /p h:1 Imperial_mint ' . If you do not have access to see this plot, it consists of 4 plots making up a 2x2 square. The orientation of the plots you merge is up to you, it can be 4x1 or 2x2 or 2x1 or 3x1 etcetera.. And I'm not being rude to some players, but most plots are blank, inactive, a couple of blocks are placed, would a few bigger plots make that much of a difference since most players hang out in rp plots and clubs? Going onto moving plots, I only thought of this after realising that if you are a serious builder or have just built something nice, you do not necessarily want a plot next to you that has just been griefed or has a inappropriate build on to ruin the atmosphere. This can also be used in conjunction with the merging, mainly to save time re-building your plot next to a friend. I suppose another way to save time setting up the moving plot commands would to be allowing //copy and //paste, however many would be concerned about their builds being stolen by friends, so maybe get the assistance of a high member of staff to use the command for you? As I said, this is only a brief idea, and I would appreciate your opinions, ideas and constructive criticism to develop this suggestion below! If you support this, I thank you very much in advance to save time Thank you - 32rhys32 Special mention to @Imperial_Mint for supporting and contributing to the idea in creative. P.s, If you leave a comment, it would be appreciated if you include your opinion on both suggestions in this thread.
Support. Big fan of this idea as I am myself a Builder. Bigger plots for bigger builds is always better . With the PlotsSquared Plugin I know that there is a option to allow players to be able to merge plots but it all depends on what sort of Plugin Mineverse uses as it could be custom, I am unsure of this.
It is possible but it's whether or not the Developers are wanting to implement something like this as it can cause a lot of problems with players. Griefing could happen more often.
How would griefing happen more often? On that note, just merge your plots with trusted friends to avoid running the risk of getting griefed. Also, if they do grief, just report them and they will be dealt with accordingly.
Yeah but it would cause more reports for the staff and I'm sure they have enough to deal with. Some people meet friends in-game but can be betrayed easy and this could happen when merging plots.
If you have a 3x1 of 3 players and the middle/joint participant wants to unmerge it's going to cause conflict.
Slightly off topic but if someone applies for Mod I'm sure they accept the responsibility that they have to take care of a lot of reports daily. On topic, as I already stated, you have to be careful with who you merge your plots with.
I do agree with Grapes in the fact that people will have to be more cautious, but it would be their responsibility on who they trust / do not trust with their plot, it is the same as adding players to your plot currently but on a larger scale. This applies to what @Musezeta said as well, it's your decision who you trust with your build, and if they un-merge it's not your fault. Overall it consists of who are your friends and to what extent do you add people who you know. And I can only agree with what @Maxamul said. If someone becomes a Mod they will have to consider their job, I'm sure a few reports won't hurt.
