PLEASE NOTE THIS THREAD WAS WRITTEN BY MELIODAS, HE JUST ASKED ME TO POST IT SINCE HE GOT BANNED. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. THANK YOU. I am an IP Logger. Well rip me #IGotAllUrIP's #GetDDoSedN3rDz yea no. So a few of you are still confused as to why I was banned and i'll just clear that up right now, straight forwardly. I was "caught" for "IP Logging". A few days ago, I decided to rickroll a few people for some fun, so I googled a URL changer, and bit.do came up. Naturally, it had everything I wanted, so I used it and changed the URL pretty simply. I post this link on forums only to get banned a few hours later. It took me a while to figure out, but I was suspected of IP Logging as the link I posted can check traffic statistics. Without any real proof, just assumptions. But hey, I'm ok with that. To be totally fair, it is their jobs in hindsight and I did make a mistake that is indeed worthy of my ban. It was totally my fault for putting you guys in danger and not checking everything the site did. That is all me. What I do dislike though, is the fact that a moderator, @Surge, not only accused me faslely of IP Logging, but also leaking the reason of my ban to the public, which made a lot of people think that I do log, when in fact, I do not. https://gyazo.com/7667e980e65aab3948fa85643d2ed0ff I really felt violated after that, and it really is not fair to tell other people my reason of ban. When I was a moderator, that was a serious offence. But after I reported it, I got this response: Your recent report has been resolved: Profile Post Comment by Surge - This is being handled by head mods. Thank you for the report. Mods Name I was like, great, its being handled. Two days later though, the comment is still up afted0ffer I requested its deletion in my absence. I guess no one really truly cares about my situation, as I am just your average IP Logger amirite amirite wheres my meme medal ahahaha, sorry. But yeah. I guess I'm banned for a month. I have given up on reapplying because at this point now like no one will probably believe my story and be like "omg memeliodas more like memeIpLoggerIodas ahaha am i rite guys ahahahahahaha". So yeah, if none of the top mods believe my story, I'll see you all in a month. Probably wont be ingame because I quit until something happens to prison, its just too boring now xddddddddd. Until then, here's the final meme I shall bless you all with: (turn up volume at end noise is quiet) (Message at the end) Nah for real guys tho, its been a blast. I may have gotten banned but I will still be dank in my absence. In the meantime I promote @RebornMemes as head MEMER on forums in my absence.
It's still an offence to disclose information, unless given the go ahead. Surge was in the wrong there. Posting this and being accused of "IP logging" is fair enough, yet untrue. They did their job correctly, which I'm glad you can respect.
From what I understand the accused's ban is a little under analysed. You have to have paid for the service to get access to see full ip addresses. This would cost at least $85. I also find it highly unlikely the accused would have spent that much money to gain a bunch of ip addresses. There are most likely cheaper ways. And given the accused record on mineverse was upholding quite a good reputation I doubt this would be a sinister act. People have various reasons why they would shorten a url. Most is to fit in statuses and signatures. If you do a google search that particular shortener is third in the list under the query "free url shortener" It just screams a misunderstanding. What surprises me is why staff would go spreading that kind of rumour around about someone without even considering the only thing the accused did was share a link behind a url shortener. I would not doubt for a second that this was all a huge misunderstanding and I hope this gets sorted out.
