No, they actually considered that before adding the eggs. A husk is basically a skeleton, but a special type of one. Thus it is a mob you must find yourself.

 

until they revert pvp to its normal state im never trying the older versions

yes i am aware of that fact and am certain that Mojang will resolve this issue and bring the eggs back

 

Eh, they're going to have to do that in the next major update.
