Yep, I'm not very old on here but I liked a lot the dragon lobby, the OP items I was collecting on Creative or when all the server was less toxic
Omg @Buckets I remember that day! And when there was survival games and the lava portals and the wither boss thing in the lobby. Also when there was maps on infection like Nether, the original mineshaft and when infection had 50+ people per day.
It sounded way better back then, people wanted to make friends, now most people I see are being rude in chat. Too much salt ;-;
IDK what it was like a at the very beginning, I have been playing sence about 2013/14 But what I remember is... the community was great, Not people that were spamming you on your one-time grammar or some other useless non seance. Creative: Lot more restrants and skin comps. (Friendly, no one whined if they lost) Parcore was also popular. People would build Houses and have house parties. There was no currency, like god items or player heads. Lot less drama. there was NO 'making love' or strip clubs. Also there were no petty gangs. (I swear, there is a police department and multiple 'drug rings'. all they do is shoot bows at each other at no effect.) People role played all right, but it was more like *im gonna get you* or *Hahah!* not Lines upon lines of stuff There was NO SPAMMING. Greifing was considered a minor problem (Now if you add anyone anymore 8/10 times you get on the next day and your plot is grifed) people were humble and there was no Drama. there is a person (Not saying name to avoid hate) that I think gets on to creative just to start drama and put people down. AOC: Creative is a madhouse. It used to be like a calm Florida beach. OP/Kit PVPs: they were popular. and good. People fought with swords. The kits were balanced. They were more people doing it for fun then 'I WANNA WIN' or 'HES HACKING' . Prison servers: I actually didn't play much prison back in the day. But it was popular.So likely it was a good community. Survival: Played a lot of this. It wasn't like it is today by a long shot. Now: its factions without actual factions. Back then: Many towns. People traded. People didn't have access to Full enchanted diamond gear 24/7. the economy was still bad. And you had more then enough claim blocks to stop greifers from greifing the roads and whatnot. Now, greifes claim and destroy every unclaimed plot. you also get like 10 CB a day your online (you need 100 to claim the smallest plot, a 10X10) and mods cant help if you don't have any blocks to claim everything. 'If you don't claim it, they are free to grief' said one when a friend's town was getting torn to bits. (It was scraped the next day. Only got maybe 1/3 of the stuff they put into it) Ranks: A big difference. Doners didn't have insanely OP gear like they do today. When I joined god rank was new. a few years later, Titan was released, and a lot of people flocked to get that. They MV started buffing the ranks. New commands, new better kits, ect. Overall, MV now is a shadow of its former self. there are more hackers then I've ever seen. not to mention some of the servers can be complacently abandoned at times (hell block, all the mini games except bed wars). the current community is just Toxic. Bugs are abused and sometimes the Mods are not allowed to step in to take care of greifings (survival, see above ) it was just better back then. Most of the bad things happend about a month after they added that dragon /lava portal lobby...
There were TONS of people on the server. Like legit, in one game of infection it averaged around 60 people..... The first time I played it was in late June of 2014 on my friends account, and I came home and made sure I had it.. There were also a lot less hackers than we have nowadays, because there weren't that many hacked clients back then. But the easiest server to hack was probably parkour. I would go on there and see a guy flying from Lvl I to Lvl VI xD
OML I can tell you about the spawn there used to be, it wasn't too long ago but maybe you weren't here when it was there? Anyways, it was pretty weird, just a tiny platform with all the tiny nether portals to the games in like a circle, and next to it there was this huge dragon you could climb all the way up to its nose with this little barrier path... Oh and the people were definitely much friendlier. Oh and the lovely Nether map... OMG the little glass Infection lobby with the fountain!! PS. I joined in November 2013 or so in-game but I was too young and a real noob back then so I had no idea what was going on around me. And I left and came back somewhere in 2014-2015? Idek.
Thw only things I remember correctly were the bow spam hackers on top of roofs under spawn on op pvp. It was so funny! I think it was the only hack used in the old days.
I joined when they had the ice lobby w hunger games and survival games being my favorite gamemodes. also creative plots were small af and in prison instead of having plots they had cells :D
Back in 2013 all I used to play was Factions, it was great back then. The spawn claim was pretty small so there'd be a whole bunch of spawn bases surrounding the whole of spawn. The most noticeable ones were NASA, WindSlash and Pens. The spawn bases were worth a whole lot of money, I still remember having one myself. Kit God/Admin was seriously OP back then though, every 15 minutes you'd get a P4 kit, it was practically priceless to have a god/admin in your faction. The best faction was probably NASA, seeing that WindSlash fell near the end of the first Factions, I still remember seeing @Ninja at spawn PvP everyday. :p
