"And where will that get them? Hiding, since the accounts they're using rarely work, and when they do, they're open to the public. On top of this, those accounts they use will most likely be banned, since they're 'hacking'. and even if they decide to use a separate account that they're not hacking on, they would be somewhat 'seeking' refuge to prevent themselves from being rebanned for ban evasion." You log on, despite a VPN ect, and you say that you are someone that is banned, you will be banned for ban evasion. IP checks aren't necessarily the only way. There are no cons to perm bans, and if this is honestly your argument, I expected more. Pettiness will get people no where, and furthermore by them wasting their own time to log onto an alt thru some stupid mcleaks junk just so they can hack, they achieve nothing. They will give up, because subconsciously they will know that it is a waste of not just others time, but their own time.
It's not about 'hackers', nor is it necessarily about repeat offenders. It is about the concept of perm bans, no matter the cause. Perm bans are not an excuse to rid the server of hackers, nor lower the number of hackers poisoning the server. Nevertheless, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but there will no matter what, always be a reason to implement and uphold perm bans.
I understand what you're trying to say. I just disagree with the idea of a permanent ban. But is such a thing as a "permanent ban" then yes, it should be permanent.
the name Permanent Means for ever. the fact that people are getting unbanned from Permanent bans is ridiculous i understand making an appeal But i thought Permanent Ment forever?? or am i just lacking knowledge.
I think people hacking 2 times and more should get a perm ban. BUT, if the person gets false banned, he can appeal.
The current system is if someone is temporarily banned for a valid reason, they will met be unbanned. They can only be unbanned if invalid. Head-Staff (Pile, myself, Dyna), are the only ones besides owners who have ability to permanently ban. That command was taken from mods a while ago because Crew thought it was used too lightly in some cases and was too long. Now, moderators request perm bans. We look over the proof and determine if they deserve it. As for users being unbanned shortly after a perm ban, that should not be happening. O for a fact wait at least weeks before I look into the appeal. Perhaps it should be longer. I will message Cyp and see what he thinks about these users being unbanned and how long it could possibly be until a moderator can hop on and /unban them after handing an appeal.
The 30 day ban thing is pretty stupid in my opinion. It basically rewards those who use alt accounts to evade without it ever being known. I always advocated for a 2nd ban perm ban, and thats how I banned my players. Players have been banned multiple times with this new system only to be unbanned then rebanned.
This is how the ban system should work( for hackers) First offence- 30 day ban Second offence- 4 month ban third offence- 1 year ban Final offence- Perm ban
Tbh, seeing as there are so many hackers on mine verse, why don't we just make a different game mode in which they can hack on instead of ruining all of our game modes. Another thing, when I am fighting a BLATANT hacker and a mod walks past flossing his/ her teeth and i find this outstanding as they are specifically supposed to keep our server clean, not targeting any mods btw.
