The Moderator Test

So what if someone is applying for popularity? Surely if they can do an excellent job and act like a determined moderator they will get promoted?

 

I think our wave was the last one that took it.

The way that mods are trained changes with each wave. Some things work better than others which is why it is constantly evolving. Im neutral to the idea though.

Like others have been saying, you're trained first, not able to moderate right away.
If the moderator isn't capable, in Cypriot's eyes, they won't be chosen. If the moderator isn't capable within the 3 days, I suppose their position as staff will be revoked.

What if one of our staff members now had failed the test? We would be without a great staff member, over a test. A moderator position is a hard job, but the servers been doing just fine without this test for a good few years.

No support. The way moderators are currently promoted is through a long process with all of the staff members. If someone's not ready, they're not getting promoted. Simple as that.

 

I bet some of them were chosen because they got a lot of positives and people said support in their mod apps, for all we know they could be friends saying that.

 

This is a good idea, it will bring out the truth in mods :D

 

They don't get mod based on supports, comments saying support doesn't matter, the feedback is what matters.
If you go and look at the old accepted applications they have like 5-10 supports and they got accepted, they were chosen based on being a good mod, they have never chosen a bad mod, every mod who has gotten their position did/ did deserve it at the time.

Oh and no support. If someone is ready, and Cyp had done his research, a test shouldn't be necessary. Experience is one of the best ways to learn.

There are people that apply to be popular, maybe you will disagree this, but there are enough.

 

Changing to a No Support Mods are already well trained.

 

No support. They have stated that they train mods, and hand select mods. If they believe a mod can do it, then they can. Some may make mistake, but I don't think a test should be put in place at the moment. They also have mentors, so if they are unsure they can ask.

 

Neutral, I don't think it's really needed. Plus, lots of reasons above.
