      The Moderator Test
      Hello Mineverse.

I have been really thinking about the moderators on this server lately and if they really deserve the position they have. I think some moderators only apply because they think they can gain more popularity by just filling out the templates with paragraphs then waiting a month or two to be promoted. From what I have seen, some moderators are not even familiar with the own server rules.

My idea is, before someone get's promoted to be a moderator. They must be tested over this.

      http://www.mineverse.com/forums/f-a-q.93/

The Mineverse FAQ's. Here's how it works: If CYP/NOOBCREW thinks someone seems worthy of the moderator spot, the applicant will be tested THOROUGHLY about every page of the FAQ. The applicant MUST pass the test with at least a 70% (C-). The reason I picked that grade is because anything less could result in that moderator not being COMPLETELY aware of the rules and could falsely punish a player. If there is any cheating or help given during the test, the applicant and the applicant's application will be denied and removed. I have come up with a few ideas for the test to ensure maximum fairness to each player that will be tested.

      Why?
      1. It will make sure the applicant is really ready to take the position and not for any other reason but to make this server a better place.

      2. It will test if the applicant has taken the time to educate them-self about the server.

      3. "Moderators are trained for 3 days before they are able to moderate." Doesn't really mean a lot. If I was to be chosen for a moderator all I'd have to do is sit through what they tell me. No test for understanding.

Ask me any question on this thread and I will answer. If I spot a significant question I will make a Q&A part of this thread and put the answers there. If this gets to a certain level of recognition, I would love to talk to a moderator about this idea to enforce it for better moderators for Mineverse.

Well, doesn't mean they don't know the rules and how the server works. They're merely just trained on commands and what to do in situations.

No, they are trained to know rules, how the server works, commands, limits, and what abuse is.

Although, people do not apply just to be popular, people apply because they want to give their time to helping the server out.

Like me, I don't do it for popularity I do it to develop a sense of responsibility and leadership that can also be used in real like cases. Also, helping out the server is really fun. :)

Okay obviously people are just reading the title and reading the comments.
They are trained on how to do things, it doesn't mean they truly understand what they're learning. That's why I advise the test.

      Support.

There actually used to be a moderator test, that would deem if we were ready or not.

First, it's not like people couldn't cheat— which basically ruins the purpose. Also, I find it more efficient to be taught and mentored through the rules and such; that way you understand them in the best way.

As heathxr stated before, moderators get a few days to learn how to moderate the server. Mods have to read a lot of threads at their start just to get to know how to moderate. If you see some mod doing something against the rules just feel free to report him. And if theres a moderator that made a mistake by false banning somebody, please understand that moderators are human, theyre not robots or anything. Everybody makes mistakes. I personaly when I was mod I always had the rules thread and some other moderator threads open just to make sure I don't make any mistakes, I still did make some of them though.
I know how you think that moderating is simple, you come to the server, ban a guy, leave. No, its not that simple. You have to remember a lot of stuff, meanwhile 5people spam you in msg trying to get help from you. Moderating is hard and it can get you really tired. So if you see a moderator that forgets something from the rules just please understand that we get tired from everything.
That said I don't support this suggestion just because moderators will still make mistakes, even if they complete the test.

The test I am talking about.
My promotion wave (@Reborn @AthleticPsycho @BlackZone @SSMH and I) was the last wave to ever take this test.

It consisted of multiple questions, all short answer/response.
This test was given at the end of two weeks of training, to see if the moderator was ready to become a "full moderator"
Now, the test was put out of use, and was never picked up again.

I believe they should have this test, as it will truly see which moderators have become "ready", in a sense.
(it also allows to see if the mentor is doing their job right)

Neutral/support if there used to be a test then I think it could be used but as said above mods have to read a load of threads before even touching a report
