I only really play on OP PvP on Mineverse, so I don't know if this applies to other game modes like KitPvP, Factions, etc. However, I do know that hackers flood OP PvP so much and it is the most annoying thing ever. I've seen hackers on the server for a few hours and sometimes even DAYS, without being caught by staff and get banned. There are two main reasons why hackers flood the server, the staff and a bad anti-cheat plugin.

      The Staff:
I don't see the staff on to much on OP PvP, and I'm pretty sure that many people who play OP can relate to this. Some staff also do not know how to even detect hacks, so hackers don't get banned unless they are very obvious, these mods should either be trained. When there were 2 staff on earlier, two VERY obvious hackers were roaming the server, right under their noses. The staff need to step up their act. Also, they need to have access to /ban (permanent ban).

      Anti-Cheat:
What is even worse than the staff problem is that the anti-cheat is incapable of stopping almost every hack. There are hackers with kill aura, anti knockback, no stop, spider, speed hacks, auto armor, etc. If you could name the hack, it could probably be used on Mineverse.

      Solutions:
      - Train staff that are unsure
      - Staff should try to visit OP PvP a bit more
      - Give the mods /ban
      - Invest in a better anti-cheat system

Comments I know that will come up:

Maybe you live in a different timezone than most moderators.
Nope, I live in the pacific standard timezone (PST), so I share my timezone with at least some of the staff, and the rest of the US is on when I'm on

      Staff have lives you know!
I realize that staff have their own lives to tend to, but moderating a large server like this is a huge commitment and at least a few hours should be put in the fulfill this commitment. Also, I have things to do in my own live, I'm actually preparing to take 3 AP tests in the next 2 weeks, and I still manage to play on Mineverse.

You're trying to make staff feel bad!
I'm just being realistic, we all want a better server, and there are certain steps that need to be taken to ensure that this happens.

That's all I have, hopefully this problem can be fixed and Mineverse could be more hack free!

No matter what we do, there will always be a hacker problem. It cannot be eliminated completely.
What? Demoting staff because they're not good at spotting hacks? Banning hackers, spotting hackers, stalking hackers, finding hackers is not all there is to being a mod. Hackers are not 100% of a mods job and a mod should never be demoted because they aren't good at spotting hacks.
As the way the ban system is now, there is no reason to give mods /ban. Only head-mods can /ban players who they believe deserve a perm ban.
I do agree a better anti cheat would be a nice addition.
Oppvp and kitpvp are the servers two biggest hotspots for hackers. The mods need to spread their time out across multiple gamemodes to moderate the server efficiently. Oppvp does usually have quite a few mods come on every day.
As a player, you need to record and report hackers to help get the hackers off the server. The mods can't do everything themselves.

This is like the 500th thread about people complaining about moderators not appearing on certain gamemodes. I'm very close to getting into a hissy fit. MODERATORS AREN'T SOME ROBOTS WITH SPECIAL POWERS THAT CAN SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS IN A SNAP! GIVE IT A BREAK. MODERATING IS A HARD JOB, THEY DON'T ONLY HANDLE REPORTS, MY GOD. THEY DO AS MUCH AS THEY CAN, SO YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY'RE DOING TO HELP THE COMMUNITY.

What she meant is that moderators are people, not some kinds of weird robots that do everything you want. AND It's your job to record and report hackers, not just Mod's job.

Okay, I have to admit, I was a little harsh by saying they should get demoted, I removed that part of the post.

Temp bans are simply not enough. If mods are as trusted as they seem to be, what is the problem of giving them perm ban? Hackers would just come back after a month and troll some more or toggle if they are smart with their hacks.

Woah bro, I made a section about saying mods have lives, I understand they have lives. However, I think they can try to do a bit more, like I said, moderating on a big server like this is a huge commitment. I also know moderating is a hard job, I am a mod on a different server, but I'm active and do everything I need to do. Again, it is a huge commitment and they need to dedicate some hours out of their day to do it. Without mods on, the hackers feel free to hack for hours without being caught by someone recording him/her. It is like people would break the law all they want without the police being around, but once the police are around they would stop. This is why the mods need to be more active, to prevent the hackers being confident in his/her ability to get away with it.

This is true, I try to record whenever I get the chance, but I have a pretty slow computer, especially when I record. It would be more convenient for everyone if hackers were banned when they were hacking instead of waiting a few hours later for a report to be processed for the hacker to be banned.

I totally agree that hackers should be perm banned, but with the way the ban system is set up, mods should only ever need to do at most a 31d ban.

You guys obviously don't see the problem. Instead of keeping things the same, we could be coming up with solutions that work, even if they're not the ones I proposed. There is a way to limit the hackers on the server, other servers are able to do it. And if you disagree with the facts in this reply, then you are pretty much blind…

      "Ohhh they have lives".

Sure you guys volunteer your time to come and moderate. But sometimes players can't record everything. It specifically asks on your mod application if you can record. 50% moderator fault.

I live on opfacs. At least 12 hours a day and there's one mod online every few days. /seen half the mods and they aren't even resisted on the plugin as they haven't been on it in so long. This isn't the mods fault, it's the owners. Recruiting from the same time zone who play mainly the same sever. During the last promotions everyone was recruited from the US other than Smiley.

The best solution for hackers is to give mod to certain players on oppvp, this would prevent hackers due to mods being on often some good examples are @BLAZExSTORM <- most active person on oppvp in my opinion and others. this should work similar to the system on only being a mod on certain servers

Wanna know how to fix this?

      • Get a YouTube channel
      • Make videos of them hacking
      • Report them
      Well done you're done.

Right, mods can be on ever server all of the time and if you see a hacker then instead of having a go at the mod for not banning them why don't you record the hackers and report them?

No one benefits from you mod bashing and actually it can end up causing some mods to leave.

Well think of it this way:
Appreciate what they are currently doing
      That's it.

Mineverse is a relatively big server, and hackers always flock to big servers, in general. You CANNOT stop this totally. They are doing what they can. It's already good that they're volunteering time to hold this responsibility.
