Hello community of Mineverse. A few months ago CypriotMerkz updated and tweaked minor details on Infection (such as updated maps, new maps, bug fixes). A noticeable change was the introduction of zombie skins. Before the update you could see every nametag of the zombie approaching. This created another issue. A lot of players are having trouble recording a player using a cheat client. Because their the names are no longer visible the moderators can't (under most circumstances) identify the player using a cheat client. My suggestion is to enable or disable the zombie skin. Or reveal the nametag (also with an on/off command). At the moment when a player logs on mid-game some skins will be zombie and some skins are human. It's a bug, obviously. But proves that it is possible. A different issue is spawn-killing. Spawn-killing is fighting a zombie on their spawn point. Leaving them with little to no chance of escape or to fight back. It's often influenced by the map itself. (for example Mine shaft and coastal cliff) where access points to the rest of the map are limited. With only one direction go for a zombie in order to attack the humans. My suggestion isn't going to resolve that problem. Simply because the problem in that example has to do with the map itself. Under different circumstances Titans, Gods and other donor ranks camp up at spawn. Eventually respawn will become useless. If you're just gonna be killed by a crowd of humans within seconds and not being able to play the game... is it worth logging on? It certainly isn't to me and other players (not everyone, but some). My suggestion on this problem is to provide zombies with a 3 second PvP cool down. But a different solution (bit more complicated) would be to create a zone or multiple zones where zombies can randomly spawn. A ''zone'' would be a 5x5 block radius with multiple zones across the map (not to interfere with your ''camping'' locations). The second option is a bit more complicated to accomplish but is something that is very interesting for the next update or near future. Why? Because it would allow zombies to attack from different locations across the map. And these spawn-killers would have to spread themselves out. With that they leave more room for zombies to kill them. Creating a less ''human biased'' feeling to Infection (on most maps). Thank you for reading through my suggestion. Leave a comment if you read through everything and would like to share your opinion on it. Any criticism related to this thread is appreciated. A brief note. Suggestions are always interesting to read. A lot of players create very exiting suggestions. But also difficult to produce for developers. I'm going to leave a poll in this thread. And with that poll (combined with your feedback and support ratings), we could potentially encourage Cypriotmerkz to ask the developer(s) to look into this.
Support for the skins. I'm not too sure about the spawn point, but I like the pvp cooldown. There's no Caves map anymore, I think you mean Mineshaft. ;)
Ah, yes. Thank you for correcting me. Can you elaborate on why you're not certain about the spawn point idea?
Support for both; I especially love the idea of having the spawn-points spread out across the map. Though, how would it work? Would they spawn anywhere on the map, or would it just be on the ground?
Most likely on the ground. If a zombie apocalypse were to happen they wouldn't make it up a tree or building without having to walk up something properly.
Support for both. For spawn killing, I like the idea of multiple spawn points. But I think that the maps should also be tampered to the point where spawnkilling isn't the only source of kills. For example, mineshaft (as you said), I think this map should really just be removed. Let's put maps out where there's a good spawnpoint(s).
I agree with the zombie skin idea. But I am unsure about the spawnkilling idea. I think that the maps are fine (other then the block glitching/boosting) but I think your other idea about the pvp protection is good. You shouldn't be allowed to just keep killing zombies nonstop.
Honestly,if the spawnkilling on Mineshaft wasn't enough there's the OP webs. I support all of this, especially the spawnpoints.
It's just something that is so very different to what we have now. Infection would change drastically, and I sort of like it how it is. It is a good idea and solution, but I don't want Infection to change a lot.
