If a moderator muted people for no good reason, then how could the people appeal? Assuming evidence would not be needed.

 

Most mutes are for petite reasons, such as spamming, or profanity.

I've had 3 major mutes (in-game names), and then lots more for staff disrespect.
It really ends up at how the person thought of the moderator, and they thought they weren't doing their job.

 

It wasn't for not taking proof it was because in the screenshots it didn't show him cussing so it showed me abusing.

You said it wasn't for not taking proof, but it was, as you had no proof at all. Anyone can say there was proof earlier in the chat but that doesn't mean anything. You weren't taking proof and that's that.

I'm just explaining that taking screenshots of the parts of chat which did not include the accused breaking the rules is not evidence, and therefore he was muting people without proof.

He didn't ban anyone, he muted someone.
Most moderators are told they don't need to store evidence for mutes, or at least I was told to.

 

Rookie mistakes; if they were caught earlier and your mentor actually helped you, you would still be a moderator. :/

Actually @TADS4 is correct. Mods do not need evidence for mutes. Unless of course it is a perm mute. (Unless that rule has changed since I was mod)

 

This is what I mean, I have moderators saying you don't need evidence and moderators saying they do. It seems no one actually knows for sure so @CypriotMerks @Noobcrew enlighten us.

 

I highly doubt either of them will respond to this thread. It would be better to get the clarification from the head mods. @Nanurz @Pile_of_Butts @AmazingFireGirl

 

You might as well talk with the head-mods; we only logged perm mutes or bans.

Sure, it might end up with a report on us, but it's rare
