Why not add a "bump" button to a thread so a post can go to the top of the lists. This could have a cool down of 24hours (or something like that). This will stop people from getting confused, such as in a thread which no one replies to except the writer and s/he bumps it by posting "bump". Some people might think thats double posting...etc

What do you mean?

 

You can bump your Moderator Applications, and/or other threads every 24hours. But what he's saying is some people abuse this and do it more times then they're supposed to do.

So his idea is to add a button to all of your own created threads that says "Bump" and it'd be push able every 24 hours. It would make sure people would only bump every 24 hours and it couldn't be abused since it would only work every 24 hours.
