The role of moderator needs to be taken serious. I'm well aware of why they actually do it. It's to behold their status', you just don't quite understand it yet. These "Rate abusers" just go around and ruin the forums, that's the thing.

Again, read what I said. It has to be taken seriously. Just because you don't, doesn't mean other's don't. Respect people's decisions, please. Does it really hurt you that they've locked them, for obvious reasons?

Mkay, what has to be taken seriously? Ratings on a damn minecraft forums page? It doesn't so called "hurt" me, but it "hurts" others. It's not obvious reasons, the only thing that is obvious is people that need help, and they can't access their profiles. Also, it would be nice to comment on their status. Just my opinion.

That's because all the players b having no idea how annoying it is to clear rate abuse from their profiles :')

Listen, I get why everyone is mad about this. Profile posting is the fastest way to contact a mod, sure. However, to completely remove the ability to lock one's profile just because they volunteered their time to help the server is a little dumb to me. Anyone should have the ability to lock their profiles imo.

I'm also going to point out that I, along with a couple other mods, never did lock our profiles. The majority of the messages I get on my profile is people who are pissed off at me because I denied their appeal. Scroll through the first 3 pages of my profile, and you will find nothing that is a pressing issue, and not one person has asked me anything about the forums.
It isn't the ratings that is the annoying part. Hell, I could care less about my ratings. The part that is annoying is going back and deleting every single status you have ever made all because someone thought it would be funny to make an alt and abuse the like rating.

Okay, i agree with you. But, the only thing is, is that you guys "signed up" to do that. Honestly, i would think it is annoying to, but that's life...

But when that one person comes along that is in need of help can't find any help, what happens?
I understand 100% the purpose of locking profiles and all that garbage, but don't you think some people are just not experienced enough to know an alternative to messaging a moderator? Would you rather help the people or keep your profile private? If you want to be private so bad don't put personal stuff on the internet. Also, protecting statuses is a little bit of a joke. Sacrifices make a good moderator. You have to sacrifice things in order for the good things to come.

Which is why I never locked mine in the first place. I agree with this 100%, but removing it completely is too drastic imo.

y'all be like "posting on mods profile is the fastest way to get help" yet I've never seen any of you asking questions on a moderator's profile. No support, it doesn't matter if they have their profile open or not anyway, half of the staff team will ignore you if you post on their profile or they'll reply after 2 hours when you dont need help anymore.

I understand that some people do look for help on staff member profiles, but there are more than one staff member here. I only know 2-3 staff that have their profile set to the people they chose to follow.
That leaves several profiles open to post for help. Had this ever changed to zero profiles open I would understand the HUGE rant/discussion being made here. It's just not tho. It's 2-3 staff members, and it's their right.

There have been some nasty comments here about staff not helping those who post on their page but I have helped every one of them and yes @thorraks it may be later because I work a full time job but it's all I can do. Sorry if that's not enough for you.

I have always had my profile open. More than 2 years and 300+ pages to show for it.
      Been bullied on it.
      Called a whore.
      Told I was ugly.
Asked if I was naked in my profile picture.
      Been disrespected for my age
I've even been told to go kill myself.

I've earned my privacy and while I wont keep my profile private forever, I'm allowed this peace for the time being.
Good luck taking it from me.

We can not remove ratings from profile posts. I do not have my profile locked anymore, but I had it locked because if someone rate abuses your statuses, you must delete them. I'd like to keep my statuses, didn't really care about ratings.

I totally respect you but Jesus Christ have you ever seen someone asking help on a mod profile, every person that post for help on a moderator's profile are the players that do not understand why they are banned and they can use the section 'ban appeal' for help

I agree that it's pointless to lock their profile but I dont see why they couldn't do it

because the nubs are clueless and don't know how to internet, so they would want to post on mods profiles
