Sorry but did you not read this whole discussion, not everyone knows how to contact mods another way.
I did, they can also ask other players how to convo. Its not only the mods that can help around the server. We can too. If they need help we can tell them how to convo the mods.
I understand that it isn't only the mods who are able to help out but they are the ones who volunteered to do so.
This is all to do with ratings, again causing a huge annoyance. Would be much better to remove the like rating altogether, just causes unwanted hassle, clearly.
If we can lock our profiles why can't they? They need privacy. Some mods like their profiles locked. I don't understand why people are making such a big deal out of it till now.

Never locked my profile, never will. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But in this thread.. it's like you're saying that there is a big difference between players and staff members.. yes we are staff members I do understand that people contact us thru our profile but if we wish, we can lock it and no one can really say no to that.
I understand what you're saying, but I think that if you volunteer to help the server, having your profile open to reply to questions is pretty useful.
Personally I think mods shouldn't lock their profiles as it's a fast way of contacting them and not every person knows how to start a conversation when first joining the forums so they'll most likely go to the mods profile to try messaging them. With the new addition of needing 25 posts to have the ability to rate I don't think rate abuse with alts will be much of an issue unless that person is really going to go out of their way just to give some pixel ratings.
It is simple to contact a staff member even if their profile is locked. You simply have to click on their name when looking at one of their posts and click start a conversation. Staff members are rate abused and have a right to get their profile locked. They can ban the rate abuser I believe but they need Pile to remove the rate abuse which is why they lock their profiles. Along with people doing many other things, so. I just wanted to tell everyone they do it for a reason and you can still contact them when their profile is locked.
No support. Mods have the same rights as normal players to lock their profile from others when it comes to the forums. By implementing this you are taking away that right. Profiles are locked for a specific reason whether it is to stop spam or rate abuse or to improve safety. Mods should have their profiles locked if they wish... Probably going to get a lot of negative ratings now...
I had my profile locked for a little bit, a while back when the issues had started. Then I began to realize most of the points made throughout this thread and felt a little guilty for denying access of players, especially New Members, to my profile. I think locking your profile is okay, but to a certain extent. Issues such as status rate abuse is just something we have to deal with because our priority is indeed, helping the community.
If new players are in need of help, they create a thread, the players of the mods can help the player out in the thread they created
No one should have access to lock their profile, as it is much not needed. You guys are always gonna use the excuse "Stating that staff should not have the same privacy privileges as you is unfair." Yea, of course they shouldn't have the same privileges as you. Why should I (example) have to help someone, because they can not access the only moderator that is online's profile. Maybe because it would be nice to comment on someone's profile? Or maybe to click the "report" part, and report the comment? Ever think of that? You guys have the ability to stop what is happening. I honestly DON'T get, why staff are scared of ratings. Its a MINECRAFT FORUMS PAGE. How seriously do you take this like wtf.
