Hello, it's Maxamul again, and I've noticed something on Skygrid and I think about the spawn on Skygrid and I believe is should be fixed. The Issue: What am I talking about? It's that new players always seem to go into the protected area near spawn assuming that's where they gather resources. This results in them almost always dying and losing their protection sponge, which at that time they probably aren't aware how necessary it is. Another thing, players build their base right outside of the spawn protection, they don't seem to know that /home is possible to get them far away from spawn in an area to build their base. This also may encourage them to quit early, as they will be confused as to what they are supposed to do and that they just died. Ideas and possible solutions: Of course they can always read the signs right by them at spawn. However I have found most don't do this, most just attempt the blocks in the grid right by the spawn that are protected and die from falling. We should instead protect them from doing this, by maybe encasing spawn. This will stop them from going straight into the void and dying and losing the sponge. It would also keep them on the server instead of them being confused as to why they just died and lost their stuff. They aren't walking off the edge and dying to die, they don't know what to do and fall off and die when trying to get resources.
Uh, it's supposed to be a difficult gamemode. Making the spawn unappealing in my opinion is bad. It's sort of common sense not to walk off into the void. Is that just me?
No no, they are going out to get resources but don't understand that the area near spawn is protected, because of this, they eventually die very early on and aren't encouraged to play Skygrid anymore.
I see what you are saying. So basically make a walled spawn and possibly add a portal to walk into that teleports you to a random area?
Support. Also another good suggestion is to set your home in water. That way if you are falling type /home and you won't have any damage. Or if you set home at your base NOT in water, still type /home (Very fast) and you will still die, but will spawn again and get your stuff back. :D
Wait, the portal could be used over and over by players, and eventually players would get to other people's bases.
Yeah, I got what you meant, just the portal would be better in this situation. The world is huge, you would never be teleported to the same place. I do not know if this will be added. I am neutral on this.
Yeah. But whats awesome about my base is when I go through my portal, I go to the nether, but then if I go BACK through, I land at someone else's random base that has 2 portals in it
Okay, I believe if this was added it would encourage the players who start Skygrid to continue playing, and Skygrid would have more players.
Or make a multiple signs around spawn that are obvious [Warp] Wild Or something that can make them go somewhere random?
