There have been a few threads for this in the past and they have gotten LOTS of support but just fell to the bottom of the post list. My goal here is to try and make sure this one doesn't as well. Team trolling. Ahhh...every experienced Bedwars player has seen it once before. And of course there's nothing in the rules that says "YOU MAY NOT TEAM TROLL" (that's for another thread). Right now, I have a suggestion that may act as a partial solution to it (since the mods can't ban for it...) I suggest that fishing rods be removed from Bedwars completely. Here is my reasoning: -Fishing rods are good for knocking off targets a few blocks away. However, they are inferior in every case to a Bow. The only good usage for Fishing Rods are in Windmill and Autumn where you have to make do without gold - if you have access to gold there is no reason for a fishing rod at all. And for every player who uses a fishing rod the right way there are multiple who use it the wrong way. -Fishing rods can be used by players who really want to hog the gold by knocking away the other players. This is manageable, but really? Bedwars is about team play, and one selfish I-don't-want-to-team-u-get-away-from-my-gold player can ruin the whole experience, even driving other people to grab fishing rods and start firing away, making the other players wonder if the game is worth staying on. -Fishing rods, of course, can be used by other players to knock off their teammates. Whether or not they want to ensure you don't succeed, or take revenge for an earlier Bedwars loss, or simply just derive satisfaction off of seeing their "teammates" swear as they fall into the void with half a stack of gold and the best gear possible, they do it. The only other method of team trolling is block breaking (where they break the block under you) but it's far easier to circumvent that. Remove fishing rods, remove (most) of team trolling. So, fishing rods have only one good use, and it's really only in the maps that have the gold in the center since otherwise players would just get bows. As such I believe that if fishing rods were removed it would do more good than harm. I suppose there could be a replacement for fishing rods like snowballs (10 iron = 1 snowball) that DON'T allow for team trolling like fishing rods. Of course it would be a better idea if banning was allowed for team trolling, but that's also for another thread.
No support, it's a cheap weapon (I understand there is a cheaper gold sword) but this is something close to a bow but it only works up close, there for I love having fishing rods to hit people off. This would be kind of a dumb item to remove it makes the game funny @elephznt @Moooose @Greenfuzz #RODS
IMO if they team troll they should be banned from bedwars because they will contribute absolutely nothing to the game (except for easier wins for the other team)
It would be fine if the team trollers didn't love having fishing rods to hit people off too. That's the reason I suggested it. There are more trollers spamming these things than people actually using it against the other team.
neutral, yes, other players can hit you off the map or keep you away from recourses, and in a way its cheating, but isn't that why we have a report section? im sure not all bw players do this, so a simple temp ban after being caught first time would do.
Noobcrew has informed the moderators not to lobby ban mini game reports, so reporting them doesn't do much.
