I am going to leave a few tips for you here, if that's okay.

First, it's good that you're wanting to help out, so kudos for that. However, plainly stating that you'll do your best as moderator doesn't really say much. How much are you capable of doing at your best? What are some traits of yours? What makes you worthy? Implementing things like this in your application will surely increase your chances of being promoted.

I can't really say whether you're active in-game or not as I no longer have a Minecraft account, so won't say much about that. Just make sure you're active, as this will, once again, increase your chances of being promoted.

Remember; these are just tips, and they are COMPLETELY optional. Don't feel pressured to use them, though it'd probably be your best bet.
