I feel as though Mods are being treated unfairly. There are too many hackers in multiple servers. there are ways (free ways) to stop them. In stead the Mods have to deal with it. Some Mods are working 10-15 hours a day. That may seem all good to other staff and the Owners but I feel as though thats very unfair. Thats more than a normal job that you get paid for. and the Mods dont even get paid. I feel as thoug the Developers should add NoCheatPlus (NCP) to all servers to stop fly hackers, water walkers, and killaura'ers in the servers. I see lots of donators hacking in KitPvP. Also spigot built in Anti xray set to engine mode 2 stops 10%-35% (Stops some clients) of xrayers. Thats better than 0. That will make staff work a little less also relieving stress. I would like some of these changes to possibly be applied in the future. My Mod applicaton states that I can work up to 10 hours a day (Still more than a normal job) and people are replying, Be more active. Thats a little to much. I do have a job working on starting a hosting company (Im a staff of it not Owner) and my own servers. I also feel as though its easier to Log the staff to see how long they have been online for, how long ago, and how much time in total, and what servers they were on. I do know a lot about servers and I am a good Dev but I dont code plugins, I config them and find the right plugins for the job. Extra (Off-Topic) Warning as stated here this is off topic!!!: I would like to help out as much as possible and @AthleticPsycho Said I was going to be a good mod but I feel as though my mod application wont make it.
Hello, as in my opinion if they're applying for the position then it'd be expected that they have to work for this time. Since they applied I don't think they've got a problem with it.
Firstly I wouldn't mention anything about mod apps here because it seems like a plug or you are trying to ask for a position. Mods do work hard but its what they signed up for. I agree we need more ways to stop hackers so people can play fairly but also wont affect the whole experience, like with wrongful detection of hacks when there is lag etc. The clients get updated too and most find ways to bypass protection. So finding smarter solutions to the issue is key.
I know But what if I get a job. I already have 4 jobs to do. so I will only be on about 2-4 hours a say. Some days not at all. Thats besides the point. if they signed up to work hard. Configure NoCheatPlus and get some testers to help test it out. its not hard. Im 14 and I can do it. Lag is serverside unless a player has bad packes in qhick case I wonder how they downloaded minecraft. I know im sounding mean but im stressed. 3 servers to look out for and 1 host company. I appreciate your opinions but up there it says that they need ot work more than 10 hours a day. I would like to curse to express it but thats just crazy to work 11-5 hours a day. 16 hours is "Considered" sleep deprivation. Plus school on top of that. I may just be crazy but I was told by 4 people I would be a good staff member. Nothing about my app but I feel as though staff would be mis treated to where you work or get kicked off the staff team. Plus. I wouldn't know what im signing up for. I talked to 2 mods bot say all they do is classified. So why do people want a blind job? But if you feel as though this is going too far. Tell me. I just want to get this out here.
I accept your opinion but some hackers just crossed the line all month. Iahve reported several hackers all week and I dont get a good job or thanks. it like I say here are hackers and here is proof. They (You say) ..... "silence"...
If the Moderator believes they are working too long and hard, they can resign. This isn't a real world job for most of us. It's what we do when we get home from school so if they can't handle it, no one is forcing them to stay.
I can tell you that no mod works 10-15 hours a day. And yes they do work hard but that is apart of there job and they can leave it any time they wish as its not an actually real world job. but I also think some players work hard to because there are people that get 5 people banned a day which is pretty hard work as it takes time editing, uploading and reporting the video.
I can tell you that mods do from time to time work that long depending on who they are. Now for my actual reply. This is a pointless act from what I can see of a player attempting to put their name forward to get the position of moderator, now this completely ruined your chances because you mentioned your application.... If a moderator is tired of working long hours they can resign there's nothing stopping them It's really that simple. Moderators don't catch all the hackers that's a fact, The hackers are mainly reported then the mods have the clean up work of the ban and some filing which is nothing compared to what they would have to do without the community reporting hackers or potential hackers. EDIT: Let me just add that by doing your little application publicity stunt that your chances are literally 0 and that Plugins that you want added will most likely do nothing but increase lag and the amount of spam through NPC Not ect for mods putting even more Stress onto their shoulders.
I actually did not mention my mod application and I didn't try to put my name forward I don't see where you got that from. please explain Ohh my apologies I thought the whole thing was about me nvm xD pretty much describing my set up lmao
Although it may seem staff are overworked, it's what they sign up for. Yes adding these extra things could somewhat help, but like other comments have said, if the mod can't handle the job they can just resign. Also hiring more mods every month or so is to make it where mods don't feel so overwhelmed with work in-game and on forums.
Some people in this application form do not know you, so let me introduce you. To TorchwoodRC It takes a long time to edit his videos because he is not an amateur. He has the best computer I have ever seen, and high-speed internet. Regarding NoobCupCake He doesn't beg for staff. Thats not the way he roles. If he says he only wants the best for the server, then he does. This server has hackers that shouldn't be there, and if it was run properly they wouldn't be there. Thank you for your time in reading this reply.
ok I may have typed things that were mis understood. Staff are working too hard then kicked off if they dont work as hard for 7 days. Some people get jobs all over the place.
I don't believe I made myself clear on my original reply. Before labor laws people applied for twenty four hours a day seven days a week jobs. After the labor act the maximum time a week was set. Office hours are 8 hour shifts. Now allow me to state my point. 10-15 hours a day is a job I believe these people are not paid enough to do. Understandably some mods are that addicted to the server. but lets be logical. Im sure mineberse has at least 12 mods/admins all living in different time zones. So do the math if each one stays on 2 hours a day(With the exclusion of those who want to work longer) you will have a 24 hour staff team, As for the hackers, It is true that the NCP plugin will do nothing for lag, but the server wont lag anyways. Come on owners, people can fly hack on your server, and they go unnoticed. Get a Nocheat plugin, fix all of your staff hours, and Put A Helmet ON! Thank you for reading this, it is no longer a one man but two man attempt to stop the tyranny of the server. Thank you for reading the reply.
Moderators signed up for the position. From what I know; they enjoy it. Once they've grown to a point where they don't have time for it, they resign. They even get to choose when they moderate. It's just minecraft, I don't think anyone is being overworked.
Yeah... They're human too. They can choose to put down their headset and shut off their computer. No one is forcing them to. However, they have signed up and agreed to put time and effort into Mineverse. Obviously if they can no longer uphold this they will be punished.
