Sorry for how wordy this is but it is in your favor to read the whole thing. Hello again, its me Halex. Okay so I once again worked on an infection map but this time it was with other people rather than alone and I was asked to make the thread. The plot this is on is Empster's and if you want to see the map for yourself type /p h:5 Empster once you get on the creative server. The odd name for this map "Yggdrasil" is nordic (viking language) for world tree which is a central component to norse mythology (Thor, Odin, Loki, that stuff) It is fun to read on if you are into that, anyways back to the actual map. This map is as the video shows, a giant tree with over 100 blocks on the Y axis of playable map making it one of the tallest maps ever built for mineverse infection. Luckily the spawn for this map is half way up the tree so when a zombie dies, it is quicker to get around the map, this also helps to prevent camping on the staircase inside the tree itself. The idea behind this map was to take the Yggdrasil from the mythology and turn it into a map where the branches connect to each realm like in the mythology and there are multiple layers to the tree that act as hubs between each realm. This map took two and a half days of brainstorming and building and was a joint effort of myself (@Halex00), @Empster, @Crazy8er, @Foxx_Hunter, @Jhow, and Candie_. The video only points out where the main hiding spots are but due to the size of the map, I am sure there are a lot more ;). Anyways hope you like it and remember to drop a reply and maybe even a support :p Link to video of map below: Read if you are worried about the size ↓ ↓ ↓ I understand that when looking at the map you may worry about the size but from the spawn level of the tree and up, the video shows any possible hiding spots and anywhere under the spawn level that isn't shown would be any holes on the outside of the trunk which would be fairly easy to get to. Also keep in mind that the spawn is halfway up the tree so when a zombie dies, it doesn't take too long for them to get back to anywhere on the map because they could just jump down rather than take the stairs due to their reduced falling damage.
That is absolutely huge. It would also require a huge timer... Is it possible to show the other hiding spots? It would be pretty unfair if 6 people knew 5 unknown spots and nobody could find them. Neutral until the others are shown...
I do like this, it is very detailed and looks like it took quite a while. My only concern would be the size of it. I still support, but yeah.
It can become tedious looking for humans, although it looks fun.[emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mainly when I say other spots I mean some trees on the ground level and maybe some nooks and carnies in the trunk lower down, nothing too major. I showed all the intended spots in the video that were made for humans. Also you can always go to the plot to look for yourself too :P
I understand that concern and that's why most spots have two ways in and the spawn is halfway up the tree. Also the map doesn't have much parkour so it's fairly easy to get around even with the size. But thanks for the support!
Infection needs more small, zombie biased maps. Don't get me wrong, I love this map, it's just too big and I'm afraid it would be heavily human biased. I'm going to have to no support, sorry.
