This is BS. Just let people be able to give ratings without worrying about getting banned. I understand why to have rules and all, but it's just ugh. There's no real way to make a fair rule about this.

I honestly don't think there will ever be a fair option. Just either stick with the current rule, which has been in place since the start, or remove ratings altogether.

What does that even mean? How could a simple rule/formula that defines rate abuse be possibly called unfair? What are you even trying to say? If everyone is going by this rule/forumla what makes it unfair?

This is exactly the thing we need to talk about.

It's my opinion that 3 negative ratings no matter to who in a short period of time is abuse of the rating system. What is your opinion on that?

 

I just want it to say this. I being part of this forum for a long time. Had lost access to my accounts and just joined again and I never knew anything about this. I didn't have idea I being doing rate abused before and I thank you for this thread.
Btw I feel so much indignation for your signature @Pile_of_Butts why someone could have made so stupid comment (excuse me for saying this in this tread ) Back to the topic I did have once like 4 negative ratings for the same person and someone told me it wasn't enough for making a report I would like that to be clear please. Thanks.

 

I agree... why don't you just get limit of rating, that when you reach the limit of rating in a certain time it doesn't allow you to rate? It will just solve the whole rate abuse problem...

 

It's essentially the process of trying to tell when someone is spamming ratings as opposed to simply expressing their opinion on posts. It's time-consuming to monitor every single instance of people giving ratings and in the event that it causes a lot more harm than good, ratings should just be removed completely. Agreed, this discussion is way overdue but the problem is that if you place a set rule on ratings, that's basically equal to placing a set rule on someone's freedom of expression and their opinions.

 

It seems like ratings are causing more negative than positive.
Why don't we just remove all of the ratings and go back to when you just had the option to like something?

 

I like ratings though. They're unique compared to a simple Like button and allow you to express your feelings towards something in a quiet-ish way.
