I believe there should be a rank that is dedicated to fixing ranks, like developer, but without all the work. I have lost free on prison for some time now and prefix signs dont work, and developers/owners are never active. I believe only active people with 5/10 developing skills should apply. This ranks should only have perms to fix ranks like /pex, not op. I see countless people with rank problems The people with the permissions to fix it never come on. I think as a test to see if someone is fit for the job, they have to know how to make ranks, how to fix them, how to add permissions, and all permissions for all the plugins. I also see MANY problems with ranks, like rank glitches that no one cares to fix. If this gets accepted I might be a good fit (just an opinion). Also the current developer @TannerLittle doesn't even have op, or access to the console for prison. Thanks for reading. Bill
True, but tere are only 2 head mods and 2 devs. The devs arent active so that leaves 2 people that can fix ranks
@CypriotMerks @Noobcrew get onto prison and restore this guys Freeman rank already he's been waiting forever and he has proof of his rank.
I guess I like the idea of this, but it would have to be something monitored extremely closely. That being the case, should it be something deemed worthwhile, I would recommend something like the below. New Forum Section: A forum section for lost ranks would need to be established showing that you clearly have the rank, and explaining in detail what the current issue you are experiencing is and why you need rank assistance. CON: I could see photoshop being a thing if there is no easy ability to track the history of ranks. May be a bit tough to pick especially good ones out, and could create an underground market of sorts for this. Staff Protocol when granting rank changes: Similar to how staff members work with their bans, evidence pointing to why a rank change was made should be included in the staff forums. This allows for easy searching to see who made rank changes, on what day, and based on which evidence. NOTE: Perhaps see if a developer could build in auditing into the rank change commands. Something that records who issued what command and when. This would provide Cyp/Crew the ability to audit the staff members to ensure no one is abusing the perms for rank changes. (Perhaps a parser that filters based on the commands then pipes to a csv or something for easy searching) Donor Ranks: This area may still best be served by Cyp/Crew and I would encourage them (perhaps with auditing above) to strictly enforce that unless they deem a specific group to be worthy of that responsibility. This is largely due to a need to verify ranks and that no chargebacks may have been performed or other less than savory methods for scamming a donor rank. ======= So again, not a bad idea, but it would need a series of measures to prevent abuse and ensure a clear auditing trails for all actions. This is not only to protect the community, but to protect the staff from false accusations. Thoughts are welcome. Cheers, Melgrath
