First of all, I would like to say Merry Christmas, and I hope everyone's day is going perfectly . The point: I am making this thread as my friend recently just got scammed on ArcherPvP, it wasn't just a small scam, but he got scammed something like 2.5K, which if you play ArcherPvP, is a lot! He had all the proof required for the scammer to get banned, and the scammer did get banned, yet: - When the scammer is unbanned, he still has 2.5k! - My friend is 2.5K down. (Hard to get back) My idea just allows players who have been scammed, to get their money back, as right now there is nothing actually being done, a ban is in place, yet the scammer still has the money, so he has still succeeded. All my idea is, is when the scammer is banned, we take the money from the scammers account (thus he failed, probably wont do it again) and give it back to the player who has been scammed. Why bother? This scammer might not even play ArcherPvP, yet he now has $2500 when he is unbanned, this money could be used to trade cross-server, or for an upgrade, anything. He technically has still succeeded in his scam :( It isn't hard to give back the scammed money, a simple eco command could have it done is literal seconds. "We can't trust staff with eco commands" Then don't give them the eco commands, we have Head Moderators, and a wonderful Administration team, who have all been given a very high level of trust with their position, so only these members of staff could use the command. Thank you all for reading my suggestion, please leave your thoughts, and please notify me if I have made any errors :D. Have a wonderful christmas!
Thank You! Please tell me how? I know there would be a lot of false scam-reports, but these could easily be ignored... or a mute on the creators account?
As stated above, this could be easily abused. False scam reports are not easily noticeable either. We'd love nothing more than to give you your money back, but as of right now, we are in a loop-hole with problems that this could cause. Maybe in the future this may be possible if we find a viable solution to bypass all problems that would occur with this. However, I still support this.
Note: Pø and pµ are the same person. Pø is the main account. Pµ is an alt account. > Pø and pµ have $0. > Pø scams pß $. > Pß didn't record. > Pµ now scams pß $. > Pß recorded this time. > Pµ transfers $ to pø. > Pø now has $$. > Pµ is banned. > Pø is free and rich. However, staff can check the logs to who pµ transferred the money to if they wanted as it would be weird if a scammer had no money, unless he bought something - would that be logged? If pø is confronted, he can say that pµ gave him the money for goods. Pß can say that pø scammed him, but pß did not record so there is no evidence. Bazinga.
No Support. Many authorities do not refund scamming, (e.g Valve/Steam, many other Minecraft servers) as it can very easily be abused and you can make the money. My advice to you is, to just be careful with who you're dealing with, in my 10 years with steam&6 years with minecraft, I've never been scammed a lot of money, or something valuable, because I'm just careful with whom I deal with. It's not hard, you can tell if they are a scammer quite easily really.
No support. As stated above this could be easily abused by a couple of friends looking to make a large amount of money quickly. Also when was the last time you have seen the head moderator on? (not trying to be rude/mean) Making the head mod have a high up command such as eco would be a hassle for one or even two staff members, as scams happen in every server everyday. Losing that money I admit does suck but this would get out of hand really easily.
