      Hello, Mineverse!

In response to @Pile_of_Butts thread about how the rate abuse needs to be more specific and clear, @WolfWhispers and I have decided to create a new ratio system that covers all ratings and what we believe is true rate abuse. Please put aside anything that we've said on the other thread that you may have disagreed with, because this ratio system we've come up with will help. You can find the original thread that Pile made here:
      http://www.mineverse.com/threads/rate-abuse-a-discussion.66082/

The original rule outlining rate abuse gives no clear explanations as to how many ratings it takes for one to violate the rules. We've come up with a balanced and straightforward ratings ratio that has solved this issue.

      Our suggested ratio is:
      - No more than 3 positives per hour, to the same person. No more than 4 positives per two hours, to the same person.

      - No more than 3 neutrals per hour, to the same person. No more than 4 neutrals per two hours, to the same person.

      - No more than 2 negatives per day, to the same person. No more than 3 negatives per three days, to the same person.

Like MV's past ratio system, players will of course try to bypass it. If a pattern is noticed, that repeats the same ratings given every hour/day (Ex: disliking someone's posts every single day), then punishments will be immediately issued. Of course it's not always going to be noticed when someone has rate abused, but this gives the basic guidelines along what players should look for before they report someone.

It is also stated in the rate abuse rule that players are to be given an opportunity to explain their actions. Yet many times players are banned without a given chance to explain themselves. This is why we've developed fair punishments to resolve this issue.

      Our punishment suggestions are:

      - Before a player is punished for any type of rate abuse, they should be given the opportunity to explain the reasoning behind their abuse (unless it was very extreme).
      - From there it is up to the staff to decide whether or not they truly abused. If they did, then the staff can decide what to do from there.

Please feel free to leave any feedback below. Peace! :D

No support. I agree there should be a clear ratio but I don't quite a agree with this one.

      No support;
      Either remove the rating system,
or limit how many ratings per day.
Ex: you're only allowed to give WolfWhispers x ratings per day.

I'm agree with your second suggestion, however I don't think that's going to work out well. Say you're allowed to give 3 ratings a day to someone, some people will use that to give 3 dislikes a day.

Then they get 3 dislikes that day. If they continue to abuse that, we punish them.

Or, because of how much a hassle this is, we remove the ratings until we learn not to abuse them.

Maybe all ratings should exist except for the "dislike."

We really need to fix the rate abuse issue, but I don't think this would work. No Support, sorry.
The dumb rating was removed because people abused it.. People are abusing the dislike rating.. but then it would be Facebook :/

I wonder if there is a xenforo plugin which could actually put a limit on to how many rates you use oer day or hour.
