Upgrade Scam Penalty?

I'm beyond tempted to be upgraded to MVP, but I can't because I'm broke ;3;

I want to be upgraded. But here's the thing: WHAT IF I GET SCAMMED?
It's, sadly, an extremely common thing. I record my gameplays. So, if get scammed, and have footage, what's the penalty? Do I get something? Do they get banned?

Its bannable. I think it is a perma ban. I personally believe that it is only worthy of a temp ban but that isn't up to me.

 

So they can just come back and scam a month later?

 

Sure. and they will get another penalty. there probably not going to want to get banned twice, but either way, perma ban is for hackers, ddosers, and other SERIOUS infractions, not something like scamming someone of 500 Faction dolars.

 

Except we're talking hundreds of days worth of voting to get some upgrades.

 

You only have to vote 32 days to get upgraded.....

 

Depends on the server.
Survival - 250k = $1 (250 votes worth)
So Premium would take about 1,250 days.

 

I think scammers should get perm banned because here is some reasons.

1. You want to get something in game and you give your good items to them, It's not like you can get them back.
2. Scamming to me shows no skill, People work hard for there items and just get scammed.
3. They will just keep coming back after they get temp banned and scam more people.

To me it's not fair to those people that actually try to earn there stuff. I get tired of people scamming me, They only get a 30 day ban. They just come back and do it over and over again.

 

31 day ban.

 

If someone is looking to get them an upgrade, it is likely gonna cost a ton more than just 500 dollars.
It's likely going to be an amount that is largely cared about and would make someone very upset to lose.

 

I highly doubt you didn't realize, when I wrote this, that I was using "500 dollars" to express the fact that losing minecraft money, isn't exactly something worthy of a permanent ban from the server.

 

I did realize that you were using such as an example, but I chose to bring up how the amount would very likely be large.
I believe that it is worth of at least a 1-month ban first, but if the player goes on to do it a second time, they're out of here.

 

you know what I totally agree with that, but as it stands right now, its first offence is perm ban

 

I may be a little outdated, but unless the rule or such was changed within the last week or two, it's first offence is a 1-month ban.

Ah. I just know from personal experience that every person who has scammed me has only received a one-month ban.

 

Well that would be moderator's generosity or lack of knowledge of rules, but I am only going off of the official mineverse rules posted by nana

 

Any accounts of scamming result in a one month ban.

Maybe if you read the whole thing, (very bottom) you'd see that.

 

If you're getting someone to upgrade you, it's best to tell them to upgrade you first, and you'll give them the item(s) when you've received the rank.

First question:
If you get scammed and have footage of the scam, report the scammer. For first time scammers it's a 31-day ban.
Second question:
No, you don't get anything. You won't be refunded as only admins can refund you and it's too much of a hassle to refund everybody that gets scammed.
Third question:
Yes, they get a 31-day ban if it's their first time scamming.
