Nah, the moderators know what they're doing. I'm not saying moderators are the only people who are good at those things, just most new members have no clue what they're doing.
No support. There would be redirects all over the place and archived threads in the wrong sections. It would be a mess.
^^^ As Nanurz stated, people who haven't served as a mod don't know how to properly lock and archive a thread. No support.
That's only if you MOVE a thread with a redirect, not only lock it. As for this, no. It would be more cleanup for moderators and just complete chaos on top of that.
No Support. First, some people wouldn't know how to lock threads. Then they wouldn't move the thread to the archive, and they would also forget to tick the "Do not leave a redirect" box. It would just be a mess, sorry
