So... about the lag? Before I get into this, I do not play Minecraft anymore. I stopped playing this game in February. But I still occasionally come up to the forum and see what's up and say "Hi" on here to a few old buddies of mine. I have been getting a lot of questions about why Mineverse is lagging so much through Skype. So... I'll just give out a few theories and get around to help you fix your lag. All of these could possibly help you if you're lagging. The number of issue ratio is kept in place by the Theory order. Theory 1 Basically, the reason why most of everyone is witnessing so much lag is because the Mineverse server is somewhere(which I will not disclose) where not a lot of people live. Therefore your computer would have to connect all the way just to get to the server. For all you extreme novices out there :pomp: the server is being hosted in a area(not noobcrew's home) that not a lot of people would live. Say... for example, let's use MC ProHosting, a very popular Minecraft Server Hosting Service. MC ProHosting Headquarters(Let's just call it that) is located somewhere is America. The farther away you live from it, the farther your computer would have to connect and you'd have to deal with more lag. There is a way to get around this... Fix: get a VPN(Virtual Private Network), figure out where the Mineverse server is located and connect yourself there. But make sure your VPN isn't too significantly slow. Here is a good one that I personally use: https://www.goldenfrog.com/vyprvpn -- Before you all go reporting me, I am not trying to advertise, Im simply trying to assist you by giving you a high quality free VPN to help your connection. If you don't know how to use a VPN, YouTube it. Theory 2 Your bandwidth could be a possible problem. If your family is constantly on the internet streaming Netflix, YouTube, playing other games, or something that uses internet, that could be an issue with bandwidth. Let me break it down for you, Bandwidth: the range of frequencies within a given band, in particular that used for transmitting a signal. Basically how much connection and opening of internet you have to play games is low and you can't get enough connection to play Minecraft. There are very few fixes to this. Possible Fixes: Play later at night when your family is asleep. Try and get your family to lay off the internet a bit more, or... there is another way to tweak your router to boost it's performance 200%+... but you'll have to PM me for that because it's complex and you may damage your router if done wrong... Theory 3 Your provider could may as well be a problem. If you have Satellite internet, your connection to the Mineverse server will probably be slower? This is may not be true since I have only been playing around with this for a little bit. But if it is true... the fixes are unlikely to fix. Fix: Buying a new router, Getting a new Provider. These are probably the only fixes. Or try fixing your port settings...? Theory 4 The last one... Mineverse is virtually falling apart. Either they're not allocating enough space to the server to hold everything that goes on or there's something wrong with the configurations. This is really unfix-able unless you got access to the Mineverse console and really know what you're doing. (Only)Fix: Donate more ? I've already put 500+ $$$ into this server. Should be sufficient for another at least 10GB for space... I don't see any improvements... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ConclusionIf none of these work, it's out of my power. I don't know what else to do to help you. These error fixes have worked for all my friends. If nothing works... I can help you install that router performance software and boost your connection... I personally use it. I wont tell it on here for advertisement reasons. Any links I used on here was to help you. I had no intention to advertise. If anyone thinks any of these are wrong and don't help you, well okay? I spent my days off to attempt to help you. I also put some money into helping to find out these fixes. I'll be willing to continue finding fixes for you if I get a simple "Thanks" from you guys. Thanks for reading if you got this far, if you need further help, pm me. _--==THANKS FOR READING==---_ If you quit MV because of lag.. well...
Lag is an issue for some, but not all. The "lag" most people encounter is the server or the global network host. It goes... Server -> global network distributer -> internet path to ISP server -> then you. But like creative, opprison, kitpvp, and such its a matter of what's happening around you and what strain others are causing the server, i.e. redstone/TNT. Then there is performance lag (aka poor computer). I have a great connection to mineverse and great game play with the gaming desktop. The laptop however has a great connection too, but lacks in the performance area.
Lets discuss some of your theories you had. Theory 1 Server is located in the United States. Most of the servers population is from North America and by default will have great ping, now people in Europe and Oceanic Countries, may have a higher ping but that's just plain obvious due to the location. Now you most likely thought the server was located in Germany or any other country considering the IP you got from the Domain/Server IP, it's simply because that's the Proxy Mineverse uses. There is multiple Proxies due to they use a Minecraft DDoS Protection called ProxyPipe Inc so it's not really relevant when it comes to where the server is actually located. As for the Fix you listed as in get a VPN Server to connect to, it's not like it's going to make it amazing for them, personally I would just keep my actual connection vs connecting to a VPN to maybe get closer to the location but latency will still be there, so not a true fix. Theory 2 Bandwidth isn't really an issue to be discussing about as it's not something people usually run out of. As for the fixes you said , most of the players on here are going to be children who have School, they aren't going to wait till their family is asleep and rather focus on going to school the next day for education. This has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life. That's like saying Razer Game Booster actually helps when it just does more harm then good. Theory 3 Really?...You can't be serious. Please tell me you're joking... It's satellite internet it's not going to be a coax cable or a fiber line, of course it's going to be slow. Fix: Buying a new router doesn't fix it, Getting a new provider won't fix it if you live in the middle of no where in which you have to use a Satellite Dish, Fixing your port settings aren't going to change the matter of the internet speed. Theory 4 Mineverse isn't falling apart in anyway or having issues, their servers are in good health and have enough space to do whatever they would like with them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion OP isn't very knowledgeable with what he is talking about, next time please do not make a thread again unless you have a clue of what you are talking about.
Ever heard of DD-WRT? http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index Please come back when you're more educated. Also about server location, obviously whoever read this would know they live in another country and having lag issues. And sometimes your ISP may be a bit of an issue when connecting to some servers as I have experimented with it myself. If none of these are the correct answers then mineverse needs more space allocated. More people are lagging and not just you. VPNs may help as they make me better at registering stuff
Which is amazing. You took your time to give some reasons why you might not be able to connect to Mineverse, even though you don't even play the server. I appreciate that a LOT.
If i still played, I would. It wouldnt just help connect to a server. It would completely help your router become more powerful.
Damn forgot I made this account after I made that post lol. Anyways time to go ahead and reply to this idiotic post. DD-WRT is nothing related to these issues so once again irrelevant. Everything you just said is excuses it's not a actual subject you are pushing yet you want me to be more educated about DD-WRT. The controversy between this is completely saddening, I am not even going to care about your next post after this. Here's my box \_/ do you see any s in their? No.
