★[USA] Halex's Moderator application (Skyblock & Infection)★

Introduction​

Hello everyone, in case you don't know me, I am Halex, First off, I would like to thank this whole server community for being so friendly towards me and giving me an escape from the stresses of real life and give me the chance to hang out with people who understand me and are interested gaming like I am. I would also like to thank the owners of Mineverse, CypriotMerks and Noobcrew for starting mineverse and planting the seeds for an ever growing wonderful community. Anyways away from my sappiness, lets get back on track. I have been playing on mineverse for a very long time and I decided it was time to go ahead and apply for moderator because I feel like I can handle the ropes after watching so many other mods take up the mantle themselves.

Why do you think you should become a mod?
Honesty
Honesty, a classic start to a moderator application but still one of the most important nonetheless. I think that Honesty is one of the most important virtues on this list because it also entails that the person is trustworthy and without honesty, people could get scammed, cheated on, abused, harassed, and any other term you could think of as a form of bullying because anything a bully could say to harm you or another is a lie.

Fair
Being fair is an important quality for any individual and from being at school I understand how it feels to get the short side of the stick. I hate it when someone will hear an argument against you then act without hearing your side of the story and have first hand experience dealing with that. That is exactly what I would never do to two people either in-game or on the forums, I would make sure to give both sides a chance to speak and then take each side's evidence into consideration before acting.

Humorous
I have seen mods on other servers before and while they might be good mods and stick to the rules, they feel like I am talking to an autonomous server bot rather than a real player because of their tone they always have with players. This is something I would avoid on servers because, while I might be a mod, I am still a human staring at a monitor and in real life, I like to keep things fun when the time is right and serious when it isn't.

Respectful
Being respectful is an important quality for every social interaction you will have with another person in your life. I have dealt with people with a total lack of respect for others before and honestly, it is just a pain, they don't know when to just be quiet or to let others speak in conversations. This is something I learned to avoid doing at a young age because I always took notice to how annoying it was when people interrupted me and as a chain reaction to learning when to be quiet, I gained a healthy respect for others.

Reliable
Reliability is a very useful quality to have under your belt because it means that people will trust you with tasks knowing that they will be completed. From being in grade school for a decade now I have learned how to handle a tough work ethic and not to be satisfied with half done jobs and that ethic has carried over to games too, if someone asks me of something and I find it reasonable to do in-game, you better believe I will do it for them.

Responsible
You may have heard the saying "with great power comes great responsibility" and as far as becoming a moderator goes, I couldn't agree more. Being responsible can tie into honesty and reliability in a few ways because, to be responsible, you would have to always help others and never fool people into your own personal gain. Being responsible also entails that you would not abuse moderator powers and only act upon those that deserve it.

Helpful
I have always loved to help others and see their smiles when I finish, nothing makes me feel better then to help someone and walk away knowing that I did something good that day. While in-game I may not be able to see another person's smile, I still love to help them out and gain a better grasp of understanding on rules, commands, ideas, etc.

Caring
I suppose that this could also fall under what I said for Helpful, but I might as well say it, I enjoy seeing new players on the sever because of a few reasons, a) I can help them (that's where the helpful from the previous ethic fits in here ;)) and b) I can care for the player to make sure he/she isn't abused and is able to flourish into an amazing person in the community.

Mature
Maturity could fall under respect but I still think it is important enough to have it's own section on here. I have dealt with many immature people in the past whether at school or in-game and it can get annoying to see people spam a game's chat or to be constantly making inappropriate references that most others would consider taboo. I do not approve of immaturity and much less am it myself, I will admit that there are times that is it okay to be immature but on a public server for a game is not one of those times.

Active
I try to be on the server or forums at least once a day, everyday to keep up to date with the current events and to say hi to all the friends I have made on the server. Even if I didn't become a moderator I would still be very active because I enjoy talking to my friends on mineverse.

Good Leader
In real life, I am a team captain for my robotics team in First League Robotics, for those who don't know what that is, it is a tournament where each year you find out what a challenge is, then you build a robot (to get the size of these robots, my last one was 4x5x7ft) and program it to complete the challenge and compete with other teams to win. My robotics team has 12 people on it and I am the hydraulics and electrical team captain while 2 other people manage the other fields (pneumatics, mechanical, programming, and driving) I have been a captain on this team for 2 years and from it I have learned the key attributes to being a good leader.

Social
I love to talk with other people whether online or in real life, when I am not studying or sleeping, I am almost always talking to others either by mouth or keyboard. I know how to approach others in a meaningful and respectful way, how to be funny and casual with others, and how to keep my cool around people.

Patient
Many people say that patience is key and in many ways, it is. Without Patience, you could never stay calm, always searching for an easier and sloppier way to do things just to move on to your next assignment. I have encountered and worked with people like this before and it can be frustrating and stressful to deal with impatient people. From this experience I have learned how to be patient with others and make sure to always leave a job well done.

Experience
I have been playing minecraft since 1.2 Alpha and joined Mineverse in 2013 and from that all that time, I have gained lots of experience and understanding of all aspects of the game and those who play it. I have encountered many hackers using, aimbot, free cam, kill aura, and other hacks that can ruin the gameplay and I have also learned how to find those using it and collect sufficient evidence to have them banned in the past. I am also familiar with the way the human brain works and the way people tend to lie and from this I am able to brush lies aside and force the truth out of them.

I have been playing on Mineverse since late 2013 and have been on actively since.

Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game)
I have never been banned on the mineverse forum or server before or any other server.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?
No, but there is a first for everything :D​

I've never personally seen you in game I believe. I think that you should get more known to the community, In all game modes and in the forums. Good luck though.

I will admit I really only mainly play on skyblock, skywars, infection, and creative so if you do not play much on those then I would understand where you are getting that impression from.

Neutral, I think you need to be more active in-game and a bit kinder to other players. Also, be more active on forums. Nice application though.

I mainly only play on the infection and skyblock servers so if you mainly play on say factions, I can see where you are getting that inactive view from and that is also why I am applying for mod on only those 2 gamemodes and not global. Also I do get on almost everyday but I tend to be in /V and only get in a conversation when I want to. Honestly the main reason for this is that I don't want to be constantly msged by people asking for free stuff which happens a lot to me cause of my rank. But thanks for the review

 

Can you explain how I can be unkind because I try to avoid that in game.
