Look (but don't copy) at some of the accepted mod apps. They are a good 1000 words and contain a lot of info.

It's not advertising if you don't say the ip. For example, I can do I was a moderator on Minetime.
What you can not do is, I was a moderator on Minetime (add org, com, or net)
