What is towny?

Whats the new gamemode they are going to be adding? Is there raiding and pvp where ever you are? How does it work?

 

no its like survival but you make your town and people join it i guess???

 

Basically a factions/survival kind of gamemode. It has town and jobs which is the way you get money.

Basically, the town Mineverse was created by Cyp, and then... xD We rekt the town

 

In towny you start by joining a town and save up the money then make a town and watch the civilisations grow

 

I don't think you can raid. Basically, it's survival, but you get friends together and make a town.

 

You can have wars between other towns/nations but I think that's going to stay disabled.

 

Mineverse's Towny used to be my server, but I decided to give it to Cyp, seeing as he wanted it and I wasn't in a position to take care of Towny on my own. Since, Towny has gone through some changes, but the core of the old Towny remains the same.
It'd make sense if I knew the most, eh? 8)
Narcissism aside;

Towny is a more RPG styled version of Survival.
I heard someone describing Towny as Survival, Factions and Prison combined, which I thought seemed like a fairly accurate description.
The way Towny is setup is that there are rankups available. The higher rank you are, the more/better benefits you get.
You sell and buy items others might need, just like in Survival.
And you claim plots (and can give your residents plots of their own) just like in Factions.
Role playing is highly encouraged, as it contributes towards the experience!
The towns themselves has their own ranks, like mayor, resident etc.
You also will have the ability to create a nation! The purpose of the Nation currently is to display that you (the King) has tremendous power and a lot of followers.

There is also a War mode that can be enabled. This would turn everything into Factions.
The last nation standing is the winner. If your king dies, your entire nation surrenders the war.
However, there are no plans on War mode ever being enabled, as of now.

 

Why not enable a War mode? It will make the gameplay way more entertaining as without Towny will have barely any goals and will be very similiar to survival.

 

As I said, there aren't any plans on enabling war mode.
I didn't say that War mode won't ever be enabled. It depends on what Cyp and/or Crew wants.
