☣SSMH's Moderator Application☣ Introduction: Hello everyone, I am SSMH. View my introduction here I have been playing Mineverse for a little over a year, and I am applying as I want to change this server for the better. Without further ado, let's start my moderator application. Your in-game name: My in-game name is SSMH. What timezone are you in? I am in the timezone GMT+8. What country do you live in? I live in Singapore. What languages do you speak? I speak English and Mandarin. Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? Yes I do! I have Bandicam, which is easy and fast to use. I have a youtube account to upload videos taken as well. I also can take screenshots and upload them onto Imgur or Gyazo. Why do you think you should become a mod? I believe that I should be given a shot at moderating. Everyday, I frequent every gamemode, the most common being Infection and Prison. What appalls me is the lack of activity moderators tend to show, with the exception of a few. The main reason would be that everyone had been promoted to Global. This will not be my excuse. I will change this server for the better. I feel passionate about helping, and I love to handle reports. Instead of just reporting and recording rule-breakers, I want to be able to directly help a player. This is one of the reasons I am applying. I will show professionalism in what I do. If I am not sure with the kind of punishments, I'll be more than glad to request help or advice from current or ex-moderators. The following is a list of traits that I have that are useful whilst moderating here on Mineverse. Traits: I am respectful. Whether it be people I have grudges on, or my friends and acquaintances, I will show them respect. To deprive someone of respect would be to show your immaturity. I will treat players with the same respect I want to be treated with. I am empathic. Empathic comes from the word empathy. Empathy is putting yourself in another's shoes. I have been a player for a good period of time. I understand what it is like to be threatened, bullied, singled-out and wronged. I will show empathy to players, just how a player would want a moderator to. I am mature. I can handle pressure. I know the difference between right and wrong. I will show respect and empathy to players. Those are(some of) my definitions of maturity. I am not 100% mature, but I have the maturity to know what to do during situations as stated above. I am helpful. Of course, which moderator isn't helpful? No, not helpful as in to help. What I mean is to help someone with willingness. I am helpful both in-game and in real life. This trait will be further enhanced as a moderator. I am active. I believe activity is one of the most important traits. I am an active player on Mineverse. This does not apply to specific gamemodes, but Mineverse in general. I am hardworking. I will do my utmost to help Mineverse. Being active and hardworking goes together. You can't be active and not do anything at all, and you can't be hardworking when you're not active. I will dedicate time to help Mineverse. I am responsible. I take responsibility to my actions. I am obliged to help the server as a moderator. I am a fast-typer. This is useful when replying to messages, quickly writing a ban statement, and efficiently muting an advertiser or a spammer. This is basically one of my great offline traits I have, typing fast. I am knowledgeable. As I have been a moderator before(on other servers), I know the commands used to moderate. /ban [player] [reason] /tempban [player] [reason] I am dedicated. Dedication is a trait that is important. I am dedicated into helping this server for the better, and creating a better experience for players. I am prepared. I use gyazo, imgur and the regular Minecraft screenshotting tool. I can efficiently capture screenshots used as evidence of inappropriate language, swearing etc. For hackers, I use bandicam, which is easy to use and upload. I have a youtube account used for uploading the videos. If I am unable to get in-game, I can be on the forums and on Minechat -moderating chat. How long can you be active on the server everyday? The following is a list of my activity on the server: Holiday weekdays: Monday: 4-5 hours Tuesday: 4-5 hours Wednesday: 4-5 hours Thursday: 4-5 hours Friday: 3-4 hours School weekdays: Monday: 2-3 hours. Tuesday: 2-3 hours. Wednesday: 2-3 hours Thursday: 2-3 hours Friday: 1-2 hours Holiday weekends: Saturday: 4-5 hours. Sunday: 3-5 hours. School weekends: Saturday: 3-4 hours. Sunday: 2-4 hours. I can be online on the forums and on Minechat if I am unable to get onto my computer. Forums activity: 4-5 hours every day, regardless if it's the holidays or school days. How old are you? I have been pondering over this questions for a while. This server has moderators in the age group 9-38, it's safe to say that I'm in that age group. ;) To cut a long story short, I will not be revealing my age as of now. Should the admins or server owner(s) would like to know my age, I am most obliged to tell. With all due respect, I hope you can understand my decision. How long have you been playing Mineverse? I have been playing Mineverse since April 2014. That would be 1 year and 6 months as of October 2015. This time frame has given me a rough overview on Mineverse. Through this I believe I can better moderate this community. Have you ever been banned before? Yes, I have. I was banned for a day for using a modification that was not allowed. I have learnt my lesson and will not download it again. Do you have any past experience as a moderator? Indeed I have! I was a moderator on a relatively small server called HapCraft. I moderated it till it was shut down in September 2014. I have also moderated 2 small servers in the late 2013. They have been shut down.
