Should prisoners be able to pay their way out if they have been jailed by a Guard? Maybe 50k-200k should be the price depending on the reason for imprisonment. Haven't fully made my opinion on this subject so maybe you guys can help me out.

If you did the poll please post your answer and the reason for your choice.

Paying your way out is like buying a unban. What's the point of having the command when people can buy a "get out of jail" card.

I agree with @BrianNK and "buying out of jail" is basically like jail bail.
Players would ask a friend or someone to pay for their bail though. Good idea tho.

Not a bad idea, but I know lots of people that come on there and transfer all of their money to prison.
Boom, instant 300k$ give or take.

I like the idea, but it just has some flaws.

Personally, I can't support this. Some suggestions have been made like this, namely buying unbans, which isn't generally the greatest idea--banned players don't learn their lesson, likewise with jailed players, and can simply leave and may repeat offend.

Here is the part where I play devil's advocate. Sure it's is like a "get out of jail" card buts that's the whole point. Even paying 50k to get out of jail is a lot and it will make the prisoner not want to break the rules again. Having to pay a fine that can go up to 200k hurts.

What do you mean transfer all their money? Transfer the money from where?

It might make them not want to break the rules again, but won't it be a more lasting lesson for the offender if they're stuck in jail for a while? Just my opinion.

So let's someone's "free" and they want to break a rule. They've got the money to be bailed, so they do so. After, bam! They're jailed. But no worries, They'll just bail themselves out.

I know what your talking about, and i understand the concept. But they're is too many flaws that's preventing this to be part of jail. Good idea, but many loopholes.

Not necessarily. Making 200k takes the average prisoner more than 24 hours so it would be a worse to pay 200k but it would be a faster way of getting out.

That can be an issue but making money on prison takes time and effort even for "free" people. Beside their aren't a lot of rules on prison worth breaking.

Players should not be able to buy out. That would take the point of the consequence away. Keep it the way it is and it'll stay balanced.

Paying a lot of money to get out of jail is a big consequence. It sets them back several days, so they have to make up for the money they lost. The reason I made this thread is because I want there to be another option for prisoners to get out of jail faster instead of waiting 24+ hours.

Some people that get money fast (like solmill7 and xRisingxXxCometx) and they would just use contraband items all the time.

Then set price higher and the problem is solved. I'm sure solmill7 or xRising would not be able to make 500k in one day nor would they be willing to pay that amount every time they broke the rules. Again, this is an alternative option for people who don't want to wait out their jail time.

Then it can't exist as a viable option for people that don't make that much money.

Yes it can. It would work if the Guard sets a reasonable price depending on the rule broken and what rank they are in the prison.

Oh, so the price isn't constant, that makes sense then. I didn't know you planned on having it such that guards could set the price.

This is a cool idea, but still has flaws.
I think, that if it's regulated depending on Prison rank and offense committed, it will sort of work.
But, make it so you can only buy a get-out-of-jail-free card x amount of times. :)
