Introduction As many of you know, I love to build! I have recently applied for builder. Also, I see lots of people who want to become better, and try there hardest to do so, but they can't get down the right technique. So, I will make thread with some building tips so you can become better! NOTE: THESE ARE NOT MY BEST BUILDS. THESE ARE SMALL EXAMPLES SO YOU CAN TRANSLATE THEM INTO LARGER BUILDS YOURSELF. There are three main parts to building: Structures, Organics, and Terraforming! Each one has different things that help with detailing, and to look overall better. Structures: Many people for structures just do a wall of one block, and thats it. Well, that shouldn't be what you do! You should add DEPTH. Depth is basically adding layers of blocks to your walls to make them Unique! The other aspects of structures are Roofing, and Interiors. Roofing, as the name says, is making your roofs unique. Interiors is also self Explanatory. Lastly, there is Framing. Framing is basically the frame of your house, such as a square. Depth Examples: Don't use single blocks like this: Use many different slabs, stairs, and walls so you get a better result, like this: Interior Examples: Don't use a solid block for your floor, and dont use "notch" beds! They both look very ugly. Here is a better result of a small interior:As you can see, the carpet is more random, the bed is custom, and there are shelves on the side to accomodate different decorations, like potted flowers, or Crafting Tables. Roofing Example: Don't just make a pyramid of stairs or slabs as a roof like this: Use other blocks, and make it look much better like this: Framework: Dont make your frame square, like this: Make your frame more unique like this: Thats Structures. Next up: Organics! Organics is basically living things/Biotic factors (for you science nerds) in an environment, like Trees, and occasionally Statues. Trees are the most popular. Trees: Don't make "Notch Trees" which are basically saplings with bone meal like this: With trees, make it have roots, as well as different types of leaves to add variety and contrast. Also, Fences, Slabs, and Stairs (If used properly) can look great on a tree, Like this:The tree above uses leaves to "droop" to make it look realistic, and there is jungle, oak, and birch leaves. Statues: It is hard to make a statue, but here is a good beginner statue below, it is of a lion. Here are some links to other statues online! Spectrums: Spectrum is basically colors, and these are just links to blocks of each color, as to show different blocks that go together well I made red, orange, yellow, green, and a blue block spectrum LINK: http://imgur.com/a/SZKfK Terra: Terraforming is basically the natural landscape of you build. Waterfalls, hills, mountains, cliffs, and that sort of stuff. GOOD TERRA: BAD TERRA: As you can see below, it is WAY too even, and doesn't look natural. Above, it looks a lot more natural. As you can see above, the GOOD terra is more natural, and has a unique shape, because to make the base, basically just build blocks in ones and twos diagonally or next to each other. You then build one block up from each block diagonally backwards, and then close the top! To add depth to terraforming, use LIME AND GREEN STAINED CLAY. It looks really nice with the environment around it if it is grasslands Well, that is my building tutorial. Hope you enjoy! Common builders: @lachie_jones99 @Rythen and @Meowmix
Not bad...not bad...However could you make more of a tutorial of how to Terraforming instead of just what it should look like? Thanks!
Terra forming in mineverse is kinda messed up since allot of the commands where taken away. Here is what you can do in MV creative. 1. Select any tool (axe for example) and do //brush sphere (Block) (Size) 2. If you wanna be creative and have different blocks appear (example) do //brush sphere 50%grass,44%159:13,5%159:7 3 (159:13 = Green Stained Clay) (159:7 = Gray Stained Clay) 3. to smooth it out pick another tool and do //brush smooth
If your using Voxel Sniper which I use to terraform I use /b bb or /melt once I want to carve and shape my terrain.
I'll use this while building my builder application..... Could help since i have done it with my hand for my whole life. xD Ty @Echoed_ for da tips i already knew and thanks @Rythen for dat command.
