The statement about having a fall directly behind might be false.
Yes there is a wall, but while watching the video, the player is standing in the middle of three player sized holes in the cobble stone trees. If there was knockback, he would have been hit back against one of these or the model would have started making the small jumping motion that allows players to get hit over portions of maps, like nuketown.
Just my thoughts
