Some people just want staff for the rank. Others for the fame. Some want for legitimate reasons. When making your application, do not say "I want staff so I can help people." You can help people without a rank, it just means when you get the rank, you'll do more. Now, let me tell you from my personal experience what being staff is like. Being staff includes a lot of spam on Skype, ranging from 250-2000 messages per day, and a lot of contact requests. A lot of tags or messages on the forums (the most I've seen at once being 362), and a lot- and I mean a LOT- of spam in-game, ranging from 'This guy's a hacker, ban them","Sign my plot","Help me please" and "You are a bad staff", if some people don't get their way. Think you can handle that? Feel free to apply. Applications can get denied for many reasons. Here's a few I've seen. -Breaking the general requirements (i.e, under 25 posts, haven't been on the forums for a month). -Lacking in detail. -Troll applications. Other reasons why applications can be denied are beacause of grammar. When applying for a real life job, would you hand in a CV full of incorrect grammar, spelling and capitalization? No. So why do it here? Applications can also be denied for fake detail, also known as filler text. This is when you write, for example, "I can help to ban hackers, due to my previous experience in finding them", in several ways to make it look like you've added a lot of detail. The same can be said for sizing. "I think I can help the server by catching hackers. This is because I have had previous experience in catching hackers and therefore know how to find them. There are many different types of hackers, for example kill aura, aimbot, Jesus hack, force field. I think I can help by banning them." The underlined part is the filler text, and is not needed. Finally, when making your application, do NOT say one of the ways you can help the server is by catching all the hackers. That just isn't possible, as there will always be hackers and it makes you look inexperienced in the job as most staff know not all hackers can be caught. Edit: Another reason people may want staff is if they think a reward is involved, for example kit staff.
Spoiler Applying for staff is a huge responsibility. Your job as a staff member is to help keep the server andforums clean of any rule breakers. You are also entitled to help out everyone that needs it. One thing not to expect, is to get moderator quickly. Our co owner (Cypriotmerkz) promotes people when he feels it's the time. Asking staff or Admin to look at your moderator application only lowers your chances of becoming one. The form to apply is located here Apply form If you have any questions about becoming a moderator, please take a look at these threads Guide one Guide two Supporting an application. Supporting an application means a lot. Your support might be the deciding factor of whether someone becomes moderator or not. Here is what you should consider when supporting someone Your support What should my Application look like? Recently, we have added a section with all the accepted applications. If you are unsure of what it should look like, take a look through the archives there. Just remember not to plagiarize any of them. Accepted Applications\ Add any of that into it?
I'm not sure if this is a rounded way of saying there are other threads on this topic, or a suggestion. I will however add a link to that if you please provide one.
I've been staff elsewhere. Co owner of two servers, admin of four, moderator of seven, chatmod of one, helper of one.
You truly don't understand how staff works, you don't give out your skype to players. Even if you did you would not get '250-2000' messages a day nor a lot of contact requests. These may of occurred on the other servers that you 'moderated' but they don't occur on mineverse.
Some staff give their skype to players; it isn't unheard of. The amount of messages you get depends ont the person and their tendancy to spam. I do not understand the speech marks enclosing the word moderated.
eh I kinda feel like this thread is pointless unless it was written or corrected by a staff member from this server..
Most of these threads are pointless as @NoobCupCake has stated unless a mod has stated, I believe its an other form of gaining posts. By the way, servers treat staff a different way and have different punishments.
