most motherboards only support 1 type of RAM (ddr3 or ddr4 nowadays)

No it doesn't. If your talking about rendering, editing, or frame rate. No, your graphics card DOESNT come into play. If your talking about playback quality then yes the graphics card does take in effect. Rendering, editing, or frame rate depends on your setting and ram NOT gpu.

My ram is 16GB of ddr4 ram. My motherboard supports the new CPUs such as the Skylake processors. (6600k and the 6700k) Of course most motherboards support only one type of ram. You can't have ddr3 with ddr4 lol. *cough cough* gddr4, gddr5 are also a kind of ram *cough cough*

Oh my god... are you confusing something for something else? The GPU (graphics card) is the core part of a PC for video editing, frame rate, etc. Yes, RAM is nice, but a lot of it is not needed. (8 gb is fine)

I used to have a 650 ti and now have a 970 and the rendering time, frame rate, etc is so much faster....

No, and are you being such a *** everytime someone disagrees? Ram effects rendering speed, the GPU does nothing when with rendering. If your talking about playback quality and viewport the GPU does effect it (in that kinda way). Ram is needed if you want to do any kind of rendering of some sort. A GPU DOES NOT EFFECT RENDERING SPEED. Your either lying or just straight up just saying that for the fun.

I do agree that you don't need a lot of Ram to get things done. But ram is essential and I forgot to mention that the processor also plays a important role in video editing and final rendering.

''is it good''. Why'd you ask for our opinion if you're just going to disagree?.. (answer in a conversation)
