Trial-Mod?

I am confuzzled, when I was reading the rules then suddenly I saw the word Trial-Mod, I asked myself, is there such thing as a trial mod? So then I got the idea to go and make a thread about this, this can all be a misunderstanding, @Zambiana Right?
