I noticed that in a future Minecraft update (1.8) that mojang has decided to allow Minecraft players to change their username by giving each Minecraft player a unique ID! However I want to know how this will effect my donar rank on Mineverse. I don't want someone else to change their username to Pugbrook and steal my rank since buycraft only asks for your in game username.
Yah I think buycraft will do the ID's were they carry with you on the next update but that would be difficult with Bukkit :/ they would have to go by the ID's as well...
Don't worry. Each player has a unique id. So the ranks will stay on the players Id, not the username. You won't lose your rank
Additionally, people can't change their name to something that already exists; a random person can't make their name Pugbrook, since you already have it.
What SomeGuy said. But if you change your name, someone can change their name to PugBrook if it's not taken.
I dont undertand what do you guys mean we will receive and id how would it work? they email it to us or when we update it we get some thing popped up saying Change Your User Name Here? Please Expain to me how its gunno work im not good with all this id stuff
Don't worry, all your perms and donor ranks won't be deleted. Also players can't change their username to a username that is already in use.
Your donator rank will still be the same, all your doing is changing your username not your password, if you change your password, yes you will possibly lose you rank.
they said in the update that if u change ur username ur comp IP and other stuff would remain the same. and if ur banned and change ur username u will not be unbanned c:
Your account has a special id so that servers can recognise you but don't worry about that, you don't need to know your id cause computers do everything for you.
