Apparently the server owners think otherwise and they have my full support on this. Hey if you don't like the rule you are free to leave, Im pretty sure that you can find a lot of servers to be vulgar on. The amount of players that don't want to see this kind of filth are much greater than the ones who do.
If this rule is only in place because he's scared of little kids seeing these names. Go on creative half of the little children on there are wayy more inappropriate than any of these names. ;D
This means that creative needs more strict moderation, it doesn't mean that this filth should be allowed to be spread on all the servers.
That's not what I understand he point of this is, yes I do believe profanity and sexual reference should be filtered from public chat, but I do not believe that ones freedom of speech should be impaired due to the nature of their username.
Many people believe that they have only rights and not responsibilities, but this isn't true, either you have both or none. The right to speak is given to those who respect the others, and this applies to every respectable media of communication or forum. Your rights are not above the rights of the rest of the people and the rest of the people have the right not to read vulgarities every time you decide to say something.
"hey, let's punish players for having explicit names by muting them all across the server they simply just want to play on so little kids have a ~smaller~ chance of seeing the names. who cares if they leave because they can't talk to anyone? at least we get to keep the small children, including those who are creating sex roleplays on creative! because everyone on mineverse knows, we will never do anything to manage how explicit it is on creative!"
1. Tuckers, you're only allowed one forums account. 2. He likes the email being like this - As stated it makes it one of his most secure accounts. I'm quite surprised that someone such as yourself is not seeing that this rule is wrong on so many levels. As stated, cuss words have become such a common thing in today's society. I was born and raised in a family where I'm not allowed to swear, yet the moment I hit high school I was exposed to constant language such as this, and I've turned out fine? Someone should not be discriminated against just because of their name, especially since: A) There maybe circumstances on which that player cannot change that name(Elric) B) That player may have made their name unaware it is inappropriate(idy and I) C) When that player does change their name, they may struggle in appealing for an unmute considering the forums are well.. Broken. D) The child may be unaware of such rule and change their name, then have to wait a month to HAVE THE CHANCE to get unmuted. If people think this rule is going to 'hide' the profanity, then you're sadly mistaken. Someone should not be able to communicate just because of their name. Wow I never said the names should be inappropriate but it isn't fair that someone should have to be muted for possibly over a month and then still seek to get unmuted just because of a name. You asking why I asked why this rule was added is extremely ignorant. You're here to improve the server as well as enforce the rules. You should at least know what you're enforcing and why you're enforcing it. Am I not allowed to pose questions to the moderators or something? Hm. Exactly. When someone changes their name and I want to know who it is, I check MC name history. Pls no bad language. As I said, people like me check TAB and /who to see who is online. The names still pop up, the mute just prevents them from talking. A name is still above their head at the end of the day. Fix it with /nick or something, not a perma mute. I don't like the rule as I am unable to talk to everyone, and it isn't fair on their behalf. Why should I leave the server because I don't agree with a completely extremist rule? I've dedicated so much time to this server, and played on it for a fairly long time, and now I should leave because a new rule was just added that is unfair? K. ^ Hallelujah! ^ dble hallelujah! And now I end with this:
We can start to improve the current state by not allowing them in here too, if you are used to be around filth that doesn't mean that the rest of the people should get used too. What makes you think that you know anything about myself? Have you talked with me personally or you "know" what your friends have told you about me? It already does hide it, more strict moderation will remove it even further and the only sad ones here are the ones who are trying to defend their vulgar names which they are going to change anyway. I agree with this that's why a permanent ban would be more suitable instead of a simple mute. Other servers ban such names. If you believe that vulgar names should be allowed because of some excuse maybe you are not as "fine" as you think. A) When there is a will, there is a way B) When you choose the word f*ck in your name you are as aware as you can be C) Not a valid argument f*ckidy changed her name to idy on the forums without any problem D) Ignorance of the law/rules is not an excuse It is fair to all the rest who don't like to see inappropriate names, if you care about the rest you should change your name to a more appropriate one. The rule is quite common to all the major servers and not extreme at all. No one forces you to leave, you can stay here without talking or you can simply change your user name.
