    Should This Be Implemented?

    1. Yes! I like the map and I think it would be a nice addition to Infection.

    2. No, I think some things could be changed before it's ready to be a map.

Preface: You are a crewmember of an exploration team that set out a month ago to look for the source of a mysterious signal that was recorded on the radio a while back. The signal was identified as a fuzzy distress signal from somewhere in the center of Mexico. On the way to the site, your plane began to swerve off course. You and a few other crewmembers broke the door into the cockpit and to your surprise, the captain of the plane had vanished. The plane crash landed into a dense thicket of trees preventing any casualties, although a few crewmembers had suffered from bruises and broken bones. The group travelled away from the plane where they proceeded to find the exploration site, an ancient Aztecan city.

Hello! This is my first Infection map submission. The map is called Azteca. As implied by the story, Azteca is based off of the real-life Aztecans, who had their own unique culture and style of building temples and houses. I have adapted this style into the map with a few unrealistic twists along the way to make it unique and interesting. The map is overrun with wild grasses, climbable trees, broken huts, and a temple in the center.

You can get an in-game look at the map by visiting my plot @ /p h bhuinda

The Temple: We've combed through the dainty little place and confirmed that it is, in fact, an undiscovered and preserved Aztecan city proved by the numerous markings on the wall. I'm glad we had a translator on the team with us.

At the center of the city we stumbled upon a small, broken temple.
It looks relatively intact and it is quite admirable. Horace managed to climb up into the center of the temple and reported that there was a drop in the floor that went down about 15 feet.

The Huts: Around the temple were numerous huts that were also intact. Inside them we found cobwebs, broken shelves, ancient fireplaces, and clay jars. There's quite a few and some of them appear to have been the homes of nobles or scribes based on their size.

The Hole: Another interesting discovery! Horace and Frank were walking around sketching the houses and temple from different views when there was a sudden vibration from the ground and a giant hole opened up. It looked like it branched off to another tunnel a little ways down and then continued until opening up into what seemed to be a passageway of the temple.
We sent a few brave men to venture down there with some spelunking gear. When they got back up, they reported an opening into a tomb. There was a throne, so we've concluded that it was probably the tomb of a nobleman or a king. There were also urns around the throne, which probably contained the ashes of his family.

The Shrines: A few hours later, we all went down further into the tunnel. There, we found the collapsed ruins of a passageway that probably belonged to the temple, what Horace peeped down into yesterday. We went upstairs and then went back down the passage to the other side of the debris and found ourselves in the lower floor of the underground temple. In the center was what we thought to be small collapsed flooring that had collected rain water. To the sides there were two shrines. Both were symmetrical. Strangely, candles had already been lit there. The temple looked untouched for centuries, so how were they lit? We're not sure. Dried blood was stained on the floors which we believed to be from previous sacrifices when the shrines were still in use. In one of the shrines there was a solid block of gold. We didn't touch anything in there, though, for fear that the spirits of whatever gods the shrines belonged to were still watching over it.

The Crypts: After we were done looking at the shrines, we headed back the way we came from and walked upstairs to the upper floor. It had the same layout as the lower floor except in the middle there wasn't anything to walk across. We crept around the sides avoiding falling into the pit of water at the bottom. The side rooms were crypts! We sent half of our team to one side and the other half to the second one. After combing through them we went back and grouped up and found that both crypts also had the same layout. There were many urns like what we found in the other tomb along with exposed wooden coffins. Michael got scared because he saw the skull of what appeared to be a small child: its jawbone was detached.

      Notes:
My men are reporting seeing people roaming around at night; shadows in the dark, unwary creatures. The temple echoes with lost voices. It's driving them insane, and now we've set up night shifts to make sure whatever has been bothering them won't come near us.

Now I know what their rambling is about. A quick shadow ran behind a tree in the midst of day. I checked behind the tree, but nothing was to be found.

The entire crew woke up when Michael began to have a seizure. As his body flailed around, he began talking in a very deep and echo-y voice. No one could understand what he was saying, even the translator. We had to shoot him, the poor guy. He stopped flailing and his mouth was left open. We set him off in the nearby river.

I heard screaming in the distance earlier today, but none of my team was missing. We were all just enjoying our dry lunch when off in the distance, multiple shadow-like shapes leapt between the trees followed by that screaming.

At dinner, half of the team disappeared. I'm concerned now, because we've explored every nook of the exploration site and we still haven't found the signal source. More screaming. It's terrifying me. Now there's red eyes no that can't be right, it's just a dream. Now they're closer. I hear more of them now, shuffling through the shadows. What's happening? Are these things trying to kill us, to make us run off? But we were so certain that the sig-

Written off past the word 'sig' was blood-stained letters, spelling out H-EL-----P.

Please feel free to give me your vote on whether this should be introduced into Infection or not! If you do not believe this is capable of being an Infection map, please leave some constructive criticism and I will attend to any issues as soon as possible. Thanks!

      Np ;)

Thank you! I though the addition of a backstory behind the map would be a nice touch to finish it all up.
      Thanks tin <3

Thanks! I wasn't sure about the actual temple being underground at first but I thought it turned out very nicely as well.
Thanks Diggy :D I put a lot of blood and sweat into it, hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you everyone who has taken their time to look at this thread! It means a lot to me. Hopefully some more people can get in and vote. Just a quick reminder: if you dislike the map or think it needs some changes, please leave some constructed criticism on how I could change the map etc.
