My application was accepted so I was giving an example of an application that is made correctly :P No self-flattering intended.
So why did you only use yours? You could included others ones. :> You may not of intended to self-flatter but you did :p
Ok, i think savvy was posting her mod app to help out others wishing to get mod and she wants to give them a foundation for their app. This way, they don't end up making an application thinking its good but not like others and get hated on ;-;.
The point was to give an example of a good application. I could've added other examples, but that wouldn't have been necessary Have a nice day.
Saying these things. These are basically all PvP terms, they aren't offensive, players are eZ, bad, and noobs. I don't get how saying "recorded" is something bad......So we shouldn't help and record hackers when the moderators decide to take a break? Okay then, that's nice to hear. Calling someone a haxor isn't offensive, what if the player is actually hacking? Get good is harsh but it's not offensive, I tell @MaxNinja10 to get good because he should :t:. Get banned isn't bad to say if the player has recorded/gathered evidence. Like and example again, I call @MaxNinja10 bad all the time because......(Not appropriate for the forums), I also call MaxNinja10 a noob/nub because, why not? This guide isn't really useful in my opinion since you say you need to be "mature" which is very true but you left Mineverse because you weren't promoted and you claim you needed a "break". That's immaturity right there, but anyway you were promoted, congrats.
The list of things you should avoid saying is useful... I don't think any server wants a mod that starts arguments and/or treats players immaturely. Just my opinion. Also, there was more than one reason I left MineVerse (and I've already put that in the past). And... :p welcome back?
This thread really helped alot. To prevent the people who are applying for mod to be mean. To apply for mod, @Savvy911 You forgot more words that mods shouldn't say. Stupid A**hole Stfu Gtfo Yes, this are like almost the main words. Mods shouldn't say this too. (maybe if mad) xD
Kids too stupid. Mods need to be more harsh. Cyp doesn't give any mentoring to new mods. Mod team sucks. Bad punishments. @Tigr tried to help the server but cyp didn't listen.
lol k. Well had i needed to make an app, good work. Adding one mod app example doesnt quite allow people to quickly see what other apps were accepted and how they were set out. So even if yours is accepted, doesn't make it the only good example. Cyp has given enough guidance and is available to mods if needed, but you dont see that... gg. Also pretty sure after each promotion cyp comes on and finds players saying how bad the team is blah blah and possibly is now sick of the comments and just moves on. Imo, things gotta change sometime but we will see. Gl to all applicants
I'd also like to add to this if you don't mind. Cypriot does not help the staff team. When I was first promoted, I was given a guide to moderating. It was a page long and it told me how to use the commands such as /ban, /kick, /mute, etc. So when you say,"Cyp has given enough guidance..." are you being sarcastic? I made an effort to help this server, truly. But the few times that I messaged Cypriot, I wrote paragraphs (and tried to look professional) but he simply replied with things like; k, ya, mhm. Is that considered "guidance" and "availability" to you? I apologize for my insensitivity, but when Tigr says that the owner/co-owner needs to get off his *** and run his server, she's right. Thanks, Savvy
Beautiful and brutally honest, I love it. Regarding the mentoring for new mods...Pile used to do that for all new mods, and it honestly helped more than anyone else can. Not only Pile, but the whole staff team would just overall help the new mods and each other out the first few days of promotion, which is something I believe the staff team is lacking right now; direction. I'd like to know if someone, as soon as a moderator is promoted, hopped on Skype and called the new mods, guiding them through each and everything they do as a mod and HOW to do it. Sco used to immediately tell new mods not to sht until they learn how to, and i'm getting this feeling nothing like that happens anymore.
I think I remember someone saying a while ago that new mods are kind of just sent off to start working on their own and left to figure it out along the way, so that probably makes sense.
Maybe Pile or Sco should still do that. If they're up to it and have the spare time that is needed. Its not necessary for it to be taught from a current mod, it would be better to be taught by the best mods in history
it'd be great for them to do it however it was a screen call, meaning we'd basically watch how to do everything on the forums/ingame WITH mod perms, and obviously they dont have that anymore.
I don't care how I start my posts when i'm voicing my opinion and is irrelevant, and this isnt a thread to be debating on, rather a thread to assist the staff, to which I offered my piece and would like for it to keep on topic. Next, you want guidance, you ask for it. I read the material, I asked mods for help when i needed it, but if I needed something I would just ask Cyp. It may be hard to get a hold of him, but he does respond and it is worth it. I don't see why his other gaming habits need to come into play, he is allowed to play video games other than mc just like the next person. If noobcrew had an issue with it im sure he would have found a solution by now. At this point the staff team is more than capable of guiding new staff. Again, I do not care how many of you disagree, but I have faith in them, I have seem what the mods can do and I know a lot of them know what they are doing. Not being sarcastic. I guess part of having to ask to receive was irl experience. I was trained by an employee who started the day before me. Had I gone up to the manager and asked for some proper guidance, i would have got it most likely. Point is if you ask for the role you need to be up to the challenge. You will not always have someone holding your hand. If you think thats too difficult, if you cannot work alone and if you cant look past the fact that you will have to ask to get help then dont apply. I suggest that from now on keep on topic, possibly less on what cyp/crew do and dont do or this will probably get locked and not by me.
Stop with the flame and the off topic post. This is a thread a bout the road to being a mod, not an unorganized team. Stop or I'll lock the thread and apply warning points.
