Laura, you're doing wonderful. I already know Kato is a damn good mod. I tend to slack on reports, but I also work full time, keep a fiancee happy, and I spend a lot of time trying to monitor chat in both skywars and creative. Larry, I'll talk to Cyp about making a "guard" rank on the forums for our guards. I'll try my best to think about a few reports when I have some extra time, but yeah.
I think you need to see some gravity. There is what 13 servers connected to the Mineverse hub? 10 people to cover 13 servers for 24 hours in a day? On top of watching the forums and having personal lives. We are volunteers, not paid workers. I also admin another server for Crew, and moderate 2 others beyond that. I'm also the only Mineverse mod to also be a Prison guard. I think the amount of work I do qualifies as worthy, with or without the reports.
I am a server owner myself I do understand the work load involved. It's hard work but this is why you get people to be a moderator for that reason. They will do the hard work and be there when they need to be. If they cant handle it you get a Jnr. Mod to help that mod out and branch out to make it so that the work load is covered. Also being a server owner i know how important it is for the owners to interact with the players and help out the mods where they can or the mods get frustrated by the fact they are volunteers and the owners (who are getting paid from donations) are not there helping.
Well, I understand what you're saying. But I'm assuming that those mods that are active, are on the server playing the game and helping out with reports that never even get a chance to make it to the forums. I would guess that only 1/4 of the people who play are even members on the forum. Which would equate to a ton of issues that are contended with inside the game. I'm not defending anyone as I have no idea who is active/inactive in their position as I only play on the prison server.
Having been a Mod for Noobcrew for well over a year, I can tell you that he is busy. He has his own life to deal with on top of MV, and 3 Skyblock based servers, maybe more. Cyp is admin on all of those servers as well. They do their best to track everything so we ask that people please give them some leeway. I try my best to remind both of them to pay attention to everyone.
If this is the case you make "Forum Moderators" who spend most of there time checking up on the forums instead of in game
I can't argue with that logic. I have said the same thing on the skyblock.net forums. I don't know the hierarchy that Crew uses for his admins/mods, so I can't really comment on that option. Perhaps Xelnagahunter can provide some insight.
Yes but they can talk to the mods that sit in game and don't ever go on to the forums and get the issue quickly resolved
I'm gonna be honest. Out of all the mods here, I have Larua in my skype. I think she JUST accepted me today in fact. I used to have Kato but he poofled from my list. However, that means that many of us can't communicate aside from with the forums. So how would a forum mod help in that occasion?
Really? You guys don't have like a Teamspeak? or any kind of chat that all the admins sit in. I have a admin mIRC so that when any admin are online they sit in there and if i need there help i just talk in that. Or even a Google hangouts or a Facebook convo. Or a skype chat with all the admins in it. There are so many options to solve that issue of not being able to get in contact with other admins
Not everyone is avilable for voice chats, some mods are young and their parents don't let them have skype accounts, I don't use facebook. With so many differences in lifestyle and opinion we can't "force" anything. I can talk to both Noobcrew AND Cyp, although only Cyp answers me really. But thats because I'm a long stadnign and VERY dedicated moderator.
Maybe a steam chat then? Most people steam? I know its difficult to accept change but maybe some of the ideas i have said here you could put to good use. Try to work as a team with the mods not just your own section's. I'm not trying to force this stuff on to you guys i am just trying to make your lives easier and help out the server
Once again, not everyone has steam. I hate having steam open while I'm not using it. See the issues? It's hard to get everyone on a single page. We do our best. It's technically what the forums are for anyways, us keeping in contact.
I'm sure within reason you guys could all find something that you could compromise to use if the forums aren't working to keep in contact with each other
Aww thankyou, I appreciate your comment, at least you understand and know of my permission problems I face in game, it's quite hard dealing with reports with few commands have to work with. I try my best to deal with as many threads as possible, mainly in the reports and help section.
