So today I want to suggest a new idea for MineVerse servers. Everyday I will come online and see people saying "ez" or "rekt". I've been in that position, and it doesn't feel good. I've known players to quit because of things like this. It only benefits the person who won to feed their ego. In no way does it benefit anyone else, and it solely makes them feel bad. Sometimes I wish that I could report a player. This should be considered harassment. So, with every suggestion I've had so far, I will make a pros and cons list: Pros: -Eliminates bad behavior/attitude -Makes everyone who plays PvP much happier -Get's rid of players who simply want to feed their egos by harassing -Cleans the chat Cons: -None. And so, I will now share my suggestion. So, what I think would work well is a chat filter. On a popular PvP server that I often play on, there is one of these. If you try to say "ez" it will automatically reply with "Don't be a bad sport. Instead, say gg or gf." This would be a great addition and would stop so many fights from happening. Thus, a happier server and with that, happier players. I also think this should apply to other things that players might say. For example: -rekt -ez -so bad (this would have to have some arrangement where you would still be able to say something like,"My cobblestone generator is so bad.") -etc. So, this is my suggestion and I hope you support it as it will benefit the server. Thank you for your time, and have a great day! -Savvy
I'm aware of this :P There is not much we can do about it, though. This chat filter would still stop a lot of fights and a lot of players.
rekt can also be expressed as "destroyed", but people use destroyed in many ways ex: "You got destroyed" but you can use it in a normal sentence "my efarm got destroyed"
Why limit what people want to say? Its their choice of words and we don't really have a right to limit that.
I realize that there are ways around this filter, but I'm sure Cyp or Crew can make modifications. Also, even if players can get around the filter, it will stop a lot of fights.
Actually, that's incorrect. Read the rules, there are many of them stating what you can and cannot say. This would be an addition.
Unless Cypriot or Crew don't want this, and I don't see why they would. It makes people feel bad, and it is terrible. There is no reason for Cyp to not make this a rule/plug-in.
Yeah, profanity. Not "ez" or "rekt". Even now players get away with adding certain symbols to overpass the profanity filters
Which is every reason to stop it. Why should we leave a problem alone when there is something we can do to be helping it?
No, limiting people to say 'eZ' 'rekt' and etc. will cause players to leave on to another server feeling that they are being limited on what they can say in PVP. It's not insulting personally, I don't see how it's bad toward the server.
If the players want to leave because they are not aloud to harass, then be all means they can go. This should be bannable. You may think it's stupid or silly, but it is harassing and it puts players in an uncomfortable position which they shouldn't have to be in. Just look at the pros and cons list.
You can't make this server be perfect. Even if there are more filters they're going to find a way to continue saying it. Might as well just mute the whole chat lol.
lol Jarroy, for the last time... I'm not trying to make the server perfect or "mine". I'm trying to help. I believe that this would benefit MineVerse and that's all there is to it. I realize that there are ways around it, but that doesn't mean it won't still stop many fights. Even if the filter can't catch them, players still could and would if it was a rule.
To be honest, I take no offense into being called, Ez or rekt. I just change it to a joke. I will stay neutral here.
Yes, but many players will take this to offense and it may make them feel harassed or unhappy. I'll take your neutral, but I just want you to see it from someone else's perspective :p
Agreed. I think it should be added as a rule that you aren't aloud to say these things since they can be considered harassing.
