The problem: Anyone who spends a lot of time on the factions knows how horribley biased some of the mods are. I will not use names or specific instances, but this is a serious issue that has greatly affected several players in very negative ways during thier time here on Mineverse. I know this behavior goes on(without consquence I might add) within the faction server, I can only assume this is a global problem. I have seen first hand, cases of mods being called upon by a non-mod friend playing on the server reporting someone else. Now this/these mod(s) make a quick assessment of the situation, and determine with insubstantial evidence that the accused person or persons is guilt of whatever claim or claims was or were made. They will take one-sided, nit-picked pieces of a conversation, and use this in the defense of thier friend, the accuser. I know more than a few specific cases of this, with at least half a dozen different accusers. People are reprimanded harshly and sometimes banned permenantly, based off of evidence that would be deemed insufficient if it were not coming from a personal friend. I dont think I need to explain how this is unacceptable. That should be fairly self-explanatory. So, what is to be done about this? What solutions or steps can be made to fight these behaviors, and should mods be disciplined for their actions if REAL, substantial evidence is provided against them? If so,what would be some appropriate forms of discipline? Quick Ideas: ·Temporary suspension of moderation privleges (1 week on first offence) ·See previous bullet(3 weeks on second offence) ·Permenant loss of all moderation privleges(third offence) These are just some quick brainstorms of solutions. I believe we must first acknowledge this as an issue, and then solve it as a community.
This is probably because your friend, Reignofire got banned for scamming me and you want to help with moderators being bias, if not, good on you! The problem with factions is, is that there needs to be moderators that moderate it so they can see what is actually happening. There are up to about 40 advertisers a day and when a person does get reported the moderator will always check if they're actually a bad person or not. If the moderator does not moderate factions, how are they meant to know that? Solution: Get more faction moderators. lol
Yes, another one. If a problem is adressed but not solved, it doesnt magically go away. We need to actually work togethet as a group towards a solution- a million threads mean nothing if they produce no results.
Im not going to lie and say that situation had nothing to do with this, and Im not going to lie and say im not a little upset by it, but thats Reign's business, not mine. Yes she is a friend, a good one too, but whats done is done. I wish it wouldnt have happened, but as you know we dont always get what we want, so I accept it solemly. I sincerely believe Reign would never go out of her way to cause any trouble for anyone, but thats why this issue is so important. I dont dislike you or anyone involved Elrich, but please understand that Reign was a friendm and i would like to keep things like this from happening to anyone else in the future. That is the reason for this thread.
Hi guys, it's Gizz. Since I've seen you join the forums Zinn, I've seen nothing but a Moderator application and criticism towards mods. Now, I'm not saying criticism isn't good or anything, but the more people see this type of stuff coming from you, especially since you haven't been around the forums much, the more they are going to begin to get annoyed with seeing this stuff. After looking at a few places, I can see that this is immediately about your friend, 'Reign'. Now, if it's not, please provide further instances which this event has occurred. I'd just like to explain to you that scamming is scamming - it doesn't matter whether you scam someone 30 p4 sets or 1 p4 set, it's scamming. It doesn't matter if it's $1 or $100,000, a scam is a scam. If someone has agreed to a trade and not fulfilled that trade then they have scammed. Negative threads and attitudes towards mods is not going to improve how they moderate. I agree with Elric here that what is needed is MORE moderators. Also, Cyp is not here to baby sit. When someone applies for mod they are not applying to be punished for their mistakes, they are applying to help. Your idea on the removal of their perms will not help the community. Anyway, I'm too lazy to type anymore. I hope I got my point across. Thanks, Gizz.
